New CD released! - Nov 19, 1999

Check it! I have just released my latest cd, Songs for Deathmatch, Vol. 2. This CD includes 12 intense songs and is a must if you are planning on playing hours of Unreal Tournament and Quake III Arena.

Catalogue now on MP3.com - Nov 19, 1999

My Songs for Deathmatch cds are now available on MP3.com. With this arrangement, my cds now include all the songs in Red Book audio AND in mp3 format. How convenient is that?

For the price of a regular cd, you're getting a mixed-media CD, with the bonus of all of the songs encoded already. Don't mess with ripping the songs and encoding them. Just pop the cd in your computer and drag-n-drop the songs right to your Rio, or mp3 walkman of choice.

For more info, check out mp3.com's faq:
What's a DAM CD? (FAQ)  A compact disc containing songs in both MP3 and standard CD audio format. That means you can listen to them from your stereo CD player and your MP3 playlist.

Gigadeth Gets Radio Airplay - Mar 01, 1999

Just in case you happen to be in Bucharest, Romania any time soon, tune into FM 102 and listen for some Gigadeth songs.  I received an email from their program director looking for some new music, so just for the heck of it, I sent them a copy of "Songs for Deathmatch".  Sure enough, they're playing tracks off of it on their Post Modern Show.  How cool can that be?  When I created this CD, I never dreamed I'd be getting radio airplay in Romania..?  Hey, I guess they like my stuff.

Romero .plan - Feb 7, 1999

Check out John Romero's .plan

I'm a real big guitar-music nut and just wanted to tell y'all how badass James Grote's "Quantum Rage: Songs for Deathmatch" is -- you don't even need to play this CD while deathmatching; I listen to it all the time in my car.  Get this CD if you are into metal or into doomy-melodic guitar riffs!  Samples are available on his site....check 'em out.

Duke Nukem Forever video - June 15, 1998

Want to hear some other music I created?  Go to www.3drealms.com and download the Duke Nukem Forever video that was shown at E3.  It's about 5 megs.  I created the theme song that is playing throughout the video.

E3 Report - June 1, 1998

I had a great time at the E3 show.  This was my first year there, and it was just absolutely huge.  I think I walked a few hundred miles seeing everything.  I got to check out many cool games.  All of the FPS games looked very cool, as did the mech games (StarSiege, Heavy Gear2), and the new WWII sims coming out.  One of my goals there was to get at least $75 dollars worth of free stuff, to offset the registration fee.

Also, I got to meet some really cool developers and give them my "Songs for Deathmatch" CD - Scott Miller (3D Realms), John Romero (IonStorm), Todd Hollenshead (id Software), Ray Gresko (Nihilistic), Mike Wison (g.o.d.), Dave Georgeson (Acitivision - Heavy Gear2) and others that I can't think of right now.  Big thanks for them taking the time to talk with me.

Of all the people I could meet in Atlanta, I met two highly cool folks from South Africa.  I had a great time talking with them, learning the correct pronunciation of Aluminium, etc. (Hi Catherine!, Hi Philip!)

Duke Nukem Forever video at E3 - May 27, 1998

Be sure to check out the Duke Nukem Forever video playing at the GT Interactive booth at E3.  The Duke theme song playing in the background is something that I created for 3D Realms a few months back.  This is the second year in a row that one of my songs is being used for an E3 demo - last year, id's Quake2 demo, and now Duke Nukem Forever.

New stuff on my site - May 25, 1998

I've added a new "Personal Background" section to my Info page.  I've tried to largely stick to the facts, and talk a bit about my musical influences.
