Happy Wages of the Rochester Clams had one of those moments when he went 5 for 7 at the dish today in the 24-12 win over the Cranston Yanks at Ballpark of Rochester.
The 37-year-old third basetender told reporters in the post-match interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."
H. Wages grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
This season Wages is hitting .269 with 36 hits, 1 four baser, 12 RBIs, no walks, .277 OBP and has tallyed 20 times. He has played in 28 matches. | |
