Bill Cheek had an answer for everything the Syracuse Black Pirates threw him today in the Cranston 15-8 triumph at Cranston Grounds. He made good contact 5 times, and 5 times he drilled the ball for a hit.
The Cranston midfielder went 5 for 6 in the match to put his name in the record book.
Summing up his batting philosophy to writers after the match, Cheek said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."
B. Cheek singled in the 1st, doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 4th, and hit a two-run base clearer off W. Snyder in the 6th to complete the cycle. He flied out in the 7th.
