Wednesday, August 15th, 1860: Rusch On Fire! 5-6 for East Orange!
During a ballist's career, there are days that stand out, and this day was definitely special! Chick Rusch went 5 for 6 against the Elizabeth Ironmakers at Pioneers Ballpark and the Pioneers picked up a 22-11 victory.

He exclaimed, "What a day! We win and I get 5 hits! Couldn't be better!" The delighted second basetender was really enjoying the happiness of the moment with the writers.

"He was patient up there today," the East Orange manager told the writers after the match. "I like the way he waited for his throw and wasn't overly agressive. Rusch has a tendency to go after some bad balls sometimes."

C. Rusch grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and singled in the 7th.

So far this season Rusch is batting .267 with 0 four basers, 40 RBIs and 53 tallys. He has 70 hits in 262 at-bats, 4 walks and a .277 OBP. Rusch has played in 54 matches.
