 | Monday, August 27th, 1860: Closer Rosy Towns Out Watching Rosy Towns getting helped off the field today at Ballpark of Bridgeport, cranks of the Bridgeport Ruby Legs feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the closer will miss 1-2 weeks with a back spasms. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Towns suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the match against the Lords. Looking at his pitching stats for 1860, Towns has appeared in 16 matches, pitched 43 innings and fashioned a 3-4 record with a 2.93 ERA.
