 | Saturday, September 29th, 1860: ABA's Premier Striker, Southall of Barre The Amatuer Baseball Association has made it official -- Jeremy Southall is the winner of the Outstanding Striker Award. In the 1860 season, the Barre right fielder was sensational with a .273 average, 10 two basers, 16 three basers, 6 four basers and 69 RBIs. Southall also had 13 walks, posted a .296 on-base percentage and tallyed 70 times.
This weekend the Writers Association will present the trophy to Southall for being the ABA's top-rated striker. He will receive it at the association's annual awards dinner. |  | Friday, September 28th, 1860: ABA Names Outstanding Hurler Award Winner Strong, steady and solid all season, Adam Smalley swept through the Amatuer Baseball Association collecting 36 wins and the Amatuer Baseball Association Outstanding Hurler Award.
The Celoron artist made 59 starts this year, leaving nothing but elated Orioles cranks and a devastated opposition in his wake. He finished with a 36-17 record, hurled 500.2 innings, allowed 416 hits, fanned 102, walked 41, and compiled a 1.42 ERA.
Smalley will be honored this weekend at the Writers Association annual awards banquet. |  | Thursday, September 27th, 1860: Smalley Picks Up ABA Outstanding Newcomer Award When the newswriters saw Adam Smalley on the pitcher's point in his debut season, they liked what they saw, so much so they voted him the 1860 Amatuer Baseball Association Outstanding Newcomer Award winner. The 22-year-old hurler really put on a show with a sparkling record of 36 wins and 17 losses. He started 59 times, worked 500.2 innings, yielded 416 hits, struck out 102, walked 41 and notched an impressive 1.42 ERA. Not bad numbers at all for a newcomer.
