 | Friday, September 14th, 1860: Barre Tops Celoron for ABA Title It was a storybook year for the Barre Woodchoppers as they closed out a 3-2 series win over the Celoron Orioles to claim the 1860 Amatuer Championships. They wrapped it up with a 11-1 victory to cap an incredible season and brought home their 1st championship. The Woodchoppers manager gave his view of the series, "We had a lot of things going for us, offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes win a Amatuer Championships." "We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year," said the Orioles manager. "They played better baseball than us and they beat us." During the regular season Barre put up a 41-23 record and finished second. |
