| Breaking News | | Saturday, July 28th, 1860: Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Whitewashes Barre He didn't put a spell on them. It wasn't black magic, it was just old-fashioned good pitching. That's how Heinie Rodney of the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Spiders whitewashed the Barre Woodchoppers 1-0.
After tossing a complete game 4-hit whitewash, he was all smiles, saying, "I threw a lot of my hurls for strikes in this match. I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance."
His own manager said, "He's at his best when he gets ahead of the strikers." Rodney walked 0 and struck out 1 in the victory.
The Woodchoppers manager commented on their lack of success against him, saying, "He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes."
In 1860 Rodney has compiled a 14-17 mark with a 1.87 ERA. | | Thursday, May 31st, 1860: Ensor Sizzles! Smokes Red Caps for 5 Hits! Steven Ensor really sizzled at the dish today.
