Sacramental Preparation

Baptism

Parents who wish to have a child baptized must be registered parishioners for at least three months and participating in the community life of the parish. They also attend a preparation class. Baptisms are usually celebrated at Sunday liturgy. Please contact Lynn at the parish office for information or scheduling - 381-6400.

First Eucharist / Reconciliation

Usually children celebrate the sacraments of First Reconciliation (i.e., Confession) and First Communion in second or third grade, although they are welcome to do so at higher grades. We want to help our children appreciate and respect the sacraments of the Church, and to understand how we are called as a sacramental people to follow Jesus faithfully. Preparation classes take place on Sunday mornings during the school year. Please contact Ann Boltz at the parish office for more information.

Confirmation

According to diocesan guidelines, young people can be confirmed from the 7th grade on. Because of the small numbers of young people in our parish, we usually join with another parish or group of parishes for certain aspects of the preparation process, and for the actual celebration of the sacrament. Older students or adults needing Confirmation are encouraged to participate in the RCIA program. Please contact Ann Boltz at the parish office for more information.
