Mustang JV blitz the Camels 6 - 0

In the second of three games at Pendrey Thursday night, the Mustang JV squad knocked off Campbell County 6 - 0 on three first half goals, and three in the second.  David Braun got the scoring started at 8 minutes in, hitting the upper left corner with a blast from near the 18.  Craig Todd followed a short time later, working free to nail a shot beating the keeper to the lower left corner.  The defense then took over, led by Sean Crowley, Tyler Batsche, David Schuler and Jared Schultz, holding off the Camel attack.  The defense unfortunately lost a key midfielder for the remainder of the game when Daniel Schultz went out with an injury to the head.  Late in the half, Craig Todd finished off a nice pass from Clay Mefford to record the game's third goal for the Mustangs, making it 3 - 0 at the half.

In the second half, the Mustangs controlled the midfield, and eventually Clay Mefford broke into the clear on a midfield deflection, and beat the keeper netting our fourth goal.  Jared Schultz tallied next, taking a beautiful lead pass from Craig Todd and finishing, 5 - 0 Brossart.  The game's final goal came on a corner kick from Mefford, finding Eric Enzweiler in front of net for the goal, making the final score 6 - 0 Brossart.  Eric Lemaster and Corey Hartig combined for the shutout.  Next game,  Thurs. 8/28 4:30 at Pendery vs Holy Cross.

Freshmen win 1 - 0

In the last game Thursday, played at dusk at Pendery, the Mustang Freshmen finished the night with a 1-0 victory over Campbell County in a game shortened by darkness.  Putting steady pressure on the Camel defense, the Mustangs offensive front saw several shots denied on excellent stops by the keeper.  Finally, Austin Kramer was able to hustle past the Camel sweeper and break thru on a run down the middle, picking a corner to make it 1 - 0 Mustangs.  The defense did the rest, holding on until the half, and game ended at 30 minutes in.  Next game Friday 5:00 vs Highlands at Pendery
