Our May Speakers Program Finale will be A SKOTCH EVENT:  We will be celebrating the end of our Skotch Kooler Exhibit with a panel discussion and grill-out on Wednesday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m.  at the Emma Ritchie Auditorium.  Our panel will feature Alan Piker (grandson of the company founder), Tom Trainor (long-time collector) and Carl & Jeanette Schwab (local business historians).  Bring along a favorite Skotch Kooler story to share and any unusual Skotch Products you want to tell about.  Our Curator (and head cook) Carol Gabriel will be grilling hot dogs.  Old time "soda pop" and chips are also on the menu.  So take a hop down memory lane with us -- see you there!  $5.00 per person, BCHS members free.  Open to the public.

FINAL WEEKS!!!  The exhibit of the 50’s & 60’s iconic “Skotch” line of coolers, jugs, grills, baskets and related leisure time products opened on January 16th.  It will be up for the general public to view through June 1st.  This colorful display of artifacts manufactured by the Hamilton Skotch Corporation is located in the Emma Ritchie Auditorium.  A section of the exhibit is about a New York designer and artist, Petro Cabot, who designed several unique patterns used on the Hamilton Metal Products, such as the unforgettable red and white plaid coolers.  The Skotch Exhibit is open Tuesday-Saturday, 11:30-3:30.  A $3.00 admission is charged for all adults and for children 12 or older, BCHS members are free.  Call (513) 896-9930 for more information.
