Museum Highlights
This historic house museum, with its original architectural details and numerous period furnishings, reflects the lifestyle of a prosperous industrialist in Hamilton during the Gilded Age.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the house was built between 1861-1863 and is representative of the Italianate architectural style. The house was presented to the Butler County Historical Society in 1947 by Miss Pauline Benninghofen, a member of the family which had originally owned the home.  Fifty years later, through generous contributions to the 50th Anniversary Fund, extensive interior refurbishing and other projects have been completed.
