Give me a role to play
In this drama of ours
We find ourselves in
That is all I pray
Give me the time to stay
Only sufficient hours
Here in the world of sin
Make my feet not of clay
Be ever-present here
By my side
Constant as the tide
Bring me good cheer
Make my mind ever-clear
To know what I’ve been
Worshiping gods of tin
And stinking of fear
How shall I end this prayer?
Shall I promise to fly
Up above all constraints
Shall I lay my soul bare?
I’ll come, though I don’t know where
I don’t know when or why
I’ll see you with all the saints
I’ll know you, I swear
