I've trod the sod for many a year, now
I've got some things I'd like you to hear, now
Would that be too much to ask?
I don't mean to take you to task
It's true you smoke tobacco, and excessively drink
And these habits are nasty, that's what I think
But I wouldn't think of intruding on your way of life
If I can be excluded from your brand of strife
If you think I presume too much, to ask to be excluded
Let us consider my own vices – I’m not so deluded
As to think mine are better than yours
But I keep mine behind closed doors
So as not to offend or intrude on your life or others’
And not annoy or endanger expectant mothers
If one can champion individual rights to have human failings
Why not also consideration for social rights without jailings?
