Mrs. Fannie Brown Ellis, 89, died Wednesday, March 4, at the Woodford
Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was a resident of 346 Douglas Avenue, Versailles, (View Map) and a member
of the Versailles Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Evelyn) Cox,
Versailles; Mrs. Mennon (Mary) Sanders, Ohio; and Mrs. Eugene
(Edith) Hatton, Versailles; one step-daughter, Mrs. Jess Curry,
Lexington; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Rowe, Cincinnati; eight grandchildren,
including Rosemary McClain and Timothy Hatton of Versailles; two
step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Duell-Clark
Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Henry Johns. Burial was in the Versailles
Cemetery. Mrs. Ellis' grandsons served as casket bearers.
