George Marion Stokely

George Marion Stokely, 75, died at 7:05 a.m. yesterday at his home, 134 Arceme Avenue. (View Map) He was a retired painting contractor.

Born in Woodford County, he was a son of the late Francis and Mary Frances Perkins Stokely. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Stokely's wife was the late Anna Fletcher Maines Stokely.

Survivors are a daughter, Miss Alice Elizabeth Stokely, and two sons, George Frank Stokely and Thomas Fletcher Stokely, all of Lexington; two sisters, Mrs. O. B. Ellis Jr., Fayette County, and Mrs. James A. Rome, Pitlow, Ohio; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The body was taken to Kerr Brothers Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Franklin Owen. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
