John Berry Brown

John B. Brown, 78, farmer and retired building contractor, died June 20 unexpectedly after an illness of only hours. A native of Indiana, he spent most of his life in Woodford County. He built a number of homes in the community and was still active at age 75 in 1940 when he rebuilt his own home, which had been destroyed by fire. He had been a widower for about six years. Survivors included three daughters, Misses Lonnie, Carrie and Irene; a son, Corporal Jennings Brown; three sisters, Mrs. Grant Kennedy, Mrs. Levi Henderson and Mrs. Samuel Dozier; and three brothers, Ed, Durand and Abe Brown. Burial was in the Versailles Cemetery.
