John P. Perkins Dies

John P. Perkins, 83, retired carpenter, died at 3 o'clock this morning at his home on the McCraken pike following an illness of several months. He was a native of Madison county, son of the late George and Polly Howard Perkins. He and his wife, Mrs. Annie Stokely Perkins, would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on Feb. 14.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, M. M. Perkins of Norwood, Ohio, and Allen Perkins of Versailles; one daughter, Mrs. Frank West of Versailles, and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the residence with Dr. John G. Dickson, pastor of the Versailles Baptist church, of which he was a member, officiating. Burial will be in the Versailles cemetery.
