Last Will and Testament of William Gunnel (Father-in-Law to James & William Sanders) Prince William County, Virginia, 17 Oct 1741 To all Christian people to whom those shall come, I, William Gunnel, planter of Prince William County and the Parish of Truro send greetings in our Lord God everlasting know ye that I said Wm Gunnel for the love and affection that I can bare to my two loving sons William Gunnel and loving daughters Elizabeth Saunders wife to the said William Saunders and likewise my son- in-law James Saunders my loving daughter Sara Saunders wife to the said James Saunders planter both of the above said parish and County, I the said William Gunnel being of perfect memory haven given granted and confirmed and by this writing to freely and absolutely give, grant, and confirm unto the said William Saunders and Elizabeth wise wife and their heirs the one half of the tract or parcel of land they now live upon. The upper part thereof containing one hundred and twenty five acres and the other half to James and Sara his wife and their heirs the whole tract containing two hundred and fifty acres of land bounded as follows: Beginning at a white oak on the south side of Four Mile Run about two or three miles below the head thereof going forward to a tree of Captain Simon Pearson’s and bounded southwest two hundred poles along the said Pearson’s side to a black oak on the side of a stony hills northwest one hundred and twenty poles. (This) will rise a little above a stony hill commonly called Brandamore Castle House. I the aforesaid William Gunnel grant unto the said William Saunders & Elizabeth his wife and their heirs and to the said James Saunders & Sarah his wife and heirs the above said two hundred and fifty acres of land and appurtenances forever.
