William Durand Brown

William Durand Brown, 42, carpenter and World War II veteran, died at Veteran's Administration Hospital, Louisville after four months illness. He was a member of Versailles Baptist Church. Also, he was a member of V. F. W. Franklin County Post No. 4075.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Allene Hoskins Brown; mother, Mrs. Burl Ellis, Lexington; two sons, William D. Brown, Jr. and Gene Barrett Brown; one step-son, Donald A. Lockridge; three sisters, Mrs. Raymond Cox, Mrs. Eugene Hatton and Mrs. Mennon Sanders, Kettering, Ohio; two half-sisters, Mrs. Jess Curry and Mrs. George Shelton, both of Lexington, Ky.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday CDT at the Burdin-Sullivan Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. John Kruschwitz of Versailles Baptist Church and the Rev. Henry M. Downing of Crestwood Baptist Church in Frankfort.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John A. Thomas, Clarence Welch, Eugene Hatton, Harold Wingate, Kenneth Franklin and Frank Brown.
