OUR MOTHERS GRAVE

Living with son, Robert, in 1880 Madison Co., KY census.

[My (Dave Sanders) theory:]
Neither Cynthia (age 19) nor her brother, David, (age 17) appear in the James Sanders' household in the 1820 Madison Co., KY census. There is, however, a girl & boy of Cynthia & David's ages living with the recently married Nathan H. Stevenson. By 1823, James Sanders has disappeared. In 1826, Cynthia marries & her marriage bond is signed by Nathan H. Stevenson. "I" think that Cynthia & David went to work for Nathan. Nathan is still in Madison in 1830, but the people David & Cynthia's age are no longer in his household.

BOONE COUNTY JOURNAL p.1, of the 4 August 1870 issue under the heading "Names of Old Citizens":
"I was born in York District, South Carolina in 1811, came to Boone county in
1832. I have always been an old line Whig. I loved the people of the
South too well to be allowed a vote these times. I am old fogy enough to
love the Constitution as it was left us by our first fathers, am opposed to
the 15th amendment and hope to live long enough to see a white man considered
good as a nigger. I have been a member in good standing in the Baptist
Church of Nashville--twenty-five years and hope to live so till I die. I pay
my taxes always, helped to work on the public roads and improve the county.
I think the JOURNAL is just the paper to please the people and wish it all
success. With my best wishes, I am very Truly Yours, Drury Sanders"

6. Mary Drucilla Sanders

Here's obit that mentions Mrs. Farris and by the date, subject almost has to be Drucilla.

"Mrs. Land, the Mother of Mrs. Farris, at Silver Creek, was carried to her last resting place on the 7th.
Date of paper --Jan. 11,1888."

(Obit of Drucilla as the cemetary records indicate she died 5 Jan 1888, which would have been just 2 days before being "carried to her last resting place on the 7th." And Mrs. Farris must be Drucilla's daughter, Synthia who married Ebsworth Farris.)

Gilead Cemetary (Madison Co) records show her as born 18 Jun 1818 and died 5 Jan 1888 (as Drucilla Land).
