If you haven't already figured it out, I have added the following additional movements to my pages. Anytime you see a bar, it should be a pointer to itself. Thus, if you click on it, the bar will go to the top of the page. The up and down arrows just under any bar will bring you to the previous or next section usually identified by another bar. I will often place a small icon of my welcome door at the tops and bottoms of every page. This icon will bring you back to my home page (that has my welcome door). If I have an index for a page, it will be near the top of the page and each entry will identify a section that you can go directly to by clicking on it. Clicking on the title of any section will bring you back to the index. If any of these don't work exactly that way, I'm not surprised. It's a lot of indexing and it's easy to lose track of all of it especially when I make fundamental changes to a page. Please feel free to send me an email telling me where any bugs are and I will fix it.
This page is a practical page. It is my workhorse and should be useful for anyone working on the internet that has interests similiar to mine. If you would like to use it, feel free to boikmark it for you own use. If you would like to have something added or altered on it, just email me and I will consider it You will also note that I have an index entry for a private page. If you want to use this yourself, all you have to do is create your own page on your C: drive and name it HTML\PRIVATE.HTM. .
Having fun is a serious pursuit and the serious pursuits in our life need to be fun. So what's the difference? These are just things that don't fit in the categories above.

Me and computers have been a thing for most of my adult life. I have been hacker, programmer and guru. I spend my days on Big Blue with some little blue thrown in for good measure. 97 is the first year for me and the web and it has been a bit of an addiction. I have been fortunate in that my daughter seems to have caught the same bug and we can spend time working on our respective pages together. Its nice to have an intellectual pastime to share. I am collecting useful reference pages here that we can use to learn and develop our pages. They should be useful for any beginner or intermediate web designer.

As the net grows so will the issues and regulation surrounding it. The time to be aware of what's happening is now. It's crucial that we don't let government or big business take over the net. I truly believe we are in the eye of a cultural revolution. The internet is an invention like the steam engine or electricity. The implications are enormous and we are only able to see the tip of the iceberg. The net is a truly people empowering tool. The potential for communication and group building are wonderful. It won't be long before power structures recognize the threat this poses them, if they haven't already. Don't be surprised at concerted efforts to take control and remove and make access to information different. In light of these thoughts, even a restriction on something as irritating as spam, can't be tolerated. These bills have to be worded very very carefully. We can't afford to accept the best bill offered only because it's better than any other one avaliable now. It's easy to lose track of the bigger picture when we see an immediate benefit for ourselves. This would be a mistake.

I work for an insurance company and so this is something I put here to keep track of what other insurance folks are doing. It sometimes makes for amusing chatter.
