The Dog Page

Olive's Page

When we first started talking about getting a dog, Mary Ann and I both agreed on a Great Dane. Everything we wanted in a dog pointed to the breed. As you can read from Buttercup's page, we got a Lab first - on a whim. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I got another whim, took a look in the Cincinnati Enquirer Classified pages, and found a Dane for sale. We went and got her the next day. I am to blame for the name - somehow, Lemmy just wasn't fitting for her. She sleeps A LOT these days, and already eats much more than Buttercup . . . so she should grow to be the size of a small pony when it's all said and done.

Emma and her friend Megan decide to get in the playpen with Olive for a tumble.

This dog thinks it's a lapdog.
Can't wait 'til she's 150 lbs. and tries this.
At first, Buttercup wasn't quite sure what to make of this interloper. However, now, she's Buttercup's favorite toy to play with.
More lapdog examples . . .
In the three weeks since this pic was taken, Olive has grown to be as tall as Buttercup. Her paws are bigger than Buttercup's
Guess who DID NOT want to share the water bowl?
More from the kitchen.
I know you've already seen this image - but it's one of my favorites.
