Serves 6
Heat fat in a large skillet, flour and fry chicken until browned.
Remove chicken from skillet and place in casserole. Preheat oven to 350°.
In remaining fat sauté onions until golden.
Combine seasoning and add to onions, stirring to blend well.
Combine and add to onion mixture.
Cook over high heat, stirring, until sauce thickens. Add chick-peas to chicken, then pour sauce over chicken and bake, covered, about 1 hour.
Serve with rice.
