Declaration of Catherine Jones of Campbell Co., 19 Feb. 1839

widow of Lewellen Jones who was a Private and a pensioner under the act of Congress of March 18, 1818.

She "knows but little, if anything" of his service but heard him say often during his life that he was in active service a good deal, and was engaged in many battles. That he suffered many hardships and privations - that she "heard the same repeated by others." She remembered him preparing his declaration when applying for the pension, and refers to those proofs.

He died Oct. 30, 1821.
