Cayman Brac, Cayman We stayed with wonderful folks - George and Lynn from Walton's Mango Manor. They told us wonderful stories, such as the interesting history of the lighthouses. The lighthouse on the left is battery operated, reminiscent of the "portable" lighthouses that were used years ago. Lighthouses were able to be moved inland, and Caymanians were able to get needed supplies to the island as ships dashed against the rocks, and the contents of the ship washed ashore. The Waltons set us up with our own private Dive Master - Ian. Although his boat was broken, we did many interesting shore dives - even two wreck dives! Ian has a relaxed calm approach to diving, and would time the dive, so we would come back to shore at exactly the time we needed to because of air needs (our air needs - he would surface with a maddening half a tank plus.) We found this fellow furiously working to move rocks. We're not sure if he was creating a new spot to live, or going after some dinner, but he was hard at work. The sea life was incredible, and varied. This page has been built with HomePage Publisher. Back to Vacation Page Back to Home Page
