Grand Turk, BWI After our second Discover Scuba course on Bonaire, we decided to get our Open Water Certification. We did the book work, and practiced our basic skills in the pool at home, and to finish up, we needed to do four open water dives. Our dive shop offered this at a local rock quarry (in October). We opted for the warm waters of the Carribean instead. After having received expert instruction from Oasis Divers in Grand Turk, we knew that was the place to go to finish up our training. One of the more popular locals is Alexander. He's a very friendly Nassau Grouper, who likes to follow divers as they tour his territory. He likes to be petted, and Dale tells us that we're not official Grand Turk divers until we give him a kiss. We'll have to wait until next time for that, because we don't kiss on the first dive. After becoming fully certified under the excellent tutelage of Oasis Divers, we relaxed on the beach as the crew prepared for the next dive. The calm water pictured is typical. Dive sites are usually a mere five minutes away from shore. Now you know why we come back to Grand Turk so much! This page has been built with HomePage Publisher.
