EDWARDS, James Ira, age 71 years, Whitley City, Kentucky died February
1, 2005. Funeral services were held Friday, February 4, 2005 at
McCreary County Funeral home with Bro. Mark Sewell and Bro. Mike Casada
officiating. Burial was in Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. He was born January
31, 1934 at Somerset, Kentucky the son of the late Ira S. and Bertha Cathryn
Baker Edwards. He was a heavy equipment operator and member of Lower Hickory
Grove Baptist Church. His parents and the following brother and sisters
precede him in death: Dewey Edwards; Pearl Lee Murphy; Betty Jean Edwards
and Marge Sams. Darrin Leroy Hill is the deceased stepson. Survivors include
his wife, Bonnie Perry Edwards and the following children: Randy Edwards
and wife, Charlene; John Edwards; Joe Edwards and wife, Emily; Jamie Edwards;
Lisa Upchurch and husband, Bobby all of Somerset, Kentucky; Roger Edwards;
Sherry Diane Bainum and husband, Rick and Jennifer Sue Leinberger and husband,
Jeff all of Westchester, Ohio. Roxanne Coffey and husband, Jerry, Whitley
City, Kentucky; Lisa Jennings and husband Haskell Charles, Greenville,
Tennessee are the surviving stepchildren. Kim Hill is the surviving step
daughter-in-law. Ten grandchildren; eleven step grandchildren and three

Edwards, Vena N., 85, Griffin Avenue, Somerset, Kentucky passed away
Saturday, November 6th, 2004 at Lake Cumberland Regional
Hospital, Somerset, Kentucky. She was born May 25th, 1919 in the Naomi
Community of Pulaski County, Kentucky. She was a retired seamstress for
the former Palm Beach Clothing Company, a member of Senior Friends and
a member of High Street Baptist Church, Somerset, Kentucky. She is survived
by one daughter; Helen Lee (and Richard) Phelps, Morgantown, Kentucky:
one stepson; Richard Bryan (and Paula) Edwards, Nancy, Kentucky: one stepdaughter;
Anne Marie Edwards, Bronston, Kentucky: one brother; Linden (and Zelma)
Taylor, Naomi Community: 3 grandchildren; Ricky Phelps, Suzanne Phelps
and Rebecca Phelps: one step grandchild; Bryan C. Edwards. She is preceded
in death by her parents: her husband; Herman Edwards, whom she married
on November 14th, 1953 in Sloans Valley, Kentucky by J. T. Dobbs and who
passed away July 14th, 1972. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday,
November 9th, 2004 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother
Jammie Vance and Brother Sammie Adkins officiating. Visitation will be
from 2:00 -5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 7th, 2004 at Lake Cumberland Funeral
Home and then after 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 8th, 2004 at Lake Cumberland
Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to

ELLIOTT, Carroll, 74, Bond Street, Science Hill, Kentucky, son
of Charlie Elliott and Hettie Wilson Elliott, passed away Thursday, January
5th, 2006 at his residence. He was born January 24th, 1931 in Ansel, Kentucky.
He was a United States Army Korean War Veteran, a Livestock dealer and
farmer, and a member of the Science Hill Christian Church, Science Hill,
Kentucky. He is survived by his wife; Nancy Godby Elliott, whom he married
on May 15th, 1952: one daughter; Diane Elliott (and Jack) Logsdon, Science
Hill, Kentucky: one sister; Ruth Dick, Science Hill, Kentucky: two sisters-in-law;
Hazel Elliott, Science Hill, Kentucky and Mable Elliott, Science Hill,
Kentucky: two grandchildren; Jasie Logsdon (and Jimmie) Jackson and Stevie
Lynn Elliott Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents: one sons;
Steve Elliott, who passed away on June 30th, 1988: two brothers; Paul and
Jonas Elliott. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7th,
2006 at the Chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with Brother Bob
Hoots and Brother Jason Summey officiating. Burial will be in Science hill
Cemetery, Science Hill, Kentucky. Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m., Saturday,
January 7th, 2006 at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home. Memorials may be
made to the Science Hill Garden Club or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
ELLIS, Herbert Michael, age 53 years, 6 months, and 12 days, of Whitley
City, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at
the Scott County Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, February
24, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Jim
Savage officiating. Burial followed in the Barrenfork Cemetery. He was
born August 10, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio to Herbert S. Ellis and Helen Niemi
Ellis. Herbert attended the Whitley City Methodist Church and had served
in the U.S. Navy, and had worked as a Master Electrician for the Pan America
Company. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking his sons fishing
and camping, and playing baseball with them. Preceding him in death was
his father, Herbert S. Ellis. Survivors include his mother, Helen Ellis,
of Aurora, Ohio, his wife, Grace Beckett Ellis, whom he married on October
6, 2000, three sons, Michael Ellis, of Somerset, Kentucky, Herbert Cody
Ellis, of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Dakota Ellis, a stepson, Herbie Anderson
and his companion, Kristen Malone, of Timberline, West Virginia, a daughter,
Cheyene Ellis, two stepdaughters, Laquia Anderson and her companion, Doug
Simpson, of Whitley City, and Tara Anderson Allen and her husband, Danny,
of Erwin, Tennessee, a brother, David Ellis and his wife, Leigh Ann, of
Aurora, Ohio, a sister, Diane Ellis, of Aurora, Ohio, and one grandson,
Noah Simpson, and special friends, Nixola and Buddy Wilson. Condolences

ELMORE, McKenzie Ryan of Kings Mountain died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008.
He was 31.
EMERSON, Geneva - LIBERTY - Services for Geneva Emerson, 81, of the
Mount Olive community, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Christian
Church by the Rev. Greg Powell, Greg Williams and Leslie Bentley. Burial
will be in Salyers Cemetery. She died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional
Medical Center. Born May 27, 1924, in Casey County, she was the daughter
of the late Claude and Ella Black Williams. She was a member of Mount Olive
Christian Church and the widow of Clarence C. Emerson. Survivors include
a son, Sonny Emerson of Yosemite; a sister, Goldie Hendricks of St. Bernard,
Ohio; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be
Robert Ratliff, Mike Walls, Ronald Sims, Eddie, Mike, Greg and Chuck Williams
and Mark Yaden. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday at Bartle Funeral Home

EOFF, Lydia Mae Reeves, age 90, of Eubank, passed away Wednesday, April
4, 2007, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center.She was born March
24, 1917, in CaseyCounty to the late Arthur and Janie Wiser Reeves.She
cooked for EubankHigh School for 18 years.
EPPERSON, Vernon C., 72, Epperson Lane, Nancy, Kentucky passed away
Wednesday, January 4th, 2006 at his home. He was born April 14th, 1933
in the Trimble Community, son of the late Ezra Epperson and Gertie Keeney
Epperson. He was a United States Army Korean War Veteran and retired from
the KY State Highway Department. He was a EMT and captain of the Somerset-Pulaski
County Rescue Squad , trained as an advanced open water diver and was a
member of the Delmer Church of the Nazarene, Nancy, Kentucky. He is survived
by his wife; Doris Buchanan Epperson, whom he married on February 27th,
1954 in Georgia: three sons; Clifton C. Epperson, Nancy, Kentucky, Gordon
V. (and Rhonda) Epperson, Nancy, Kentucky and Doyle W. (and Robyn) Epperson,
Nancy, Kentucky: one daughter; Shelly Epperson (and Alan) Daulton, Nancy,
Kentucky: one brother; James (and Wanda) Epperson, Nancy, Kentucky: two
sisters; Marietta Epperson (and Wayne) Marcum, Nancy, Kentucky and Sharon
Epperson (and Kelly) Dalton, Nancy, Kentucky: eight grandchildren; Clifton,
Heather, Nikki, Jeffrey, Ashley, C.J., Austin and Jaylan: 1 great grandchild:
several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: two
sisters; Mildred and Margaret. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday,
January 7th, 2006 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother
Richard Morgan and Brother Jamey Epperson officiating. Burial will be in
Oak Grove Cemetery, Nancy, Kentucky. Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m.,

ESTES, Martha F., - STANFORD - Service for Martha Francis Estes, 68,
of Logan Avenue, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home by Vola Brown.
Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. She died Wednesday at Ephraim
McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born March 14, 1938, in Lincoln County,
she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Lillie Spears Sowers. She was
a former employee of Palm Beach Co. in Danville and Stanford Elementary
cafeteria. She was a member of Stanford Baptist Church. Survivors include
her husband, John Estes; three daughters, Vicky Miracle and Debbie Owens,
both of Stanford, and Stacy Long of McKinney; two brothers, Jimmy Sowers
of Stanford and Bobby Sowers of Moreland; a sister, Juanita Gibson of Cincinnati,
Ohio; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will
be Bill Miracle, Kenneth Owens, Jeff Long, Chris and Johnny VanHook and
Colby Long. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today. Memorials may go to Heritage
