KAFOGLIS, Milton S.; age 79, died Tuesday, July
25, 2000. Mr. Kafoglis was a retired special agent with the Bureau
of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. He served as state and local president
of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was
also a member of the American Legion and the Marine Corps League, and was
active in the Hamilton County Police Association. Survivors include
his loving wife, Norma Jean Kafoglis; sons, Milton, Michael, William and
George Kafoglis; a daughter Jan Wilson; grandchildren Matthew and Michael
Kelley and Matthew James Kafoglis, three great grandchildren, and by a
brother Dr. William Kafoglis. He was preceded by his parents, Stathis
and Anna Kafoglis, and by a sister Helen Anthracopoulis. Services
will be held on Saturday, July 29 at Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox
Church at 11 AM (7000 Winton Rd) Visitation will be for one hour
prior to service at the church. Interment in Spring Grove Cemetery.

KAVANAUGH, Thelma Palmer,
92, of Northpoint Health Care Center in Lexington, died Wednesday in Lexington.
Born May 17, 1912, in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late William
and Amanda Palmer. She was a member of Paint Lick Baptist Church and affiliated
with St. Paul Predestination Baptist Church in Lancaster. She was the widow
of Samuel T. Kavanaugh. Survivors include a daughter, Vernie Mae Kavanaugh
of Lexington; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Services
will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church by the

KEITH, G.D. (Gilson D) /, 84, formerly of Pulaski, died Sunday
[June 1971] at the Hooverwood Nursing Home, Indianapolis, following an
11 month illness. He was born in Wayne County, April 7, 1887, son of Gabriel
Keith and the former Jemina New, both deceased. He was married to the former
Emma Keith, March 1917, and she preceded him in death in 1943. He married
Lola Rouse Clark in 1944, and she now survives in Michigan. Two sons survive
from the first marriage, W. Ralph Keith of Indianapolis and Henry Keith
of Waynesburg. Additional survivors include one daughter, Jemina Branscomb
of Warren, Mich.; four sons, George, Johnny, Gabriel, and Timothy, all
of Michigan; two brothers, Marshall of Waynesburg and Claudie of Eubank;
one sister, Patty Jones of Monticello. He had lived in Indianapolis for
the past nine years and had been a coal miner, farmer, and railroad worker.
He was a member of the Pulaski Baptist Church. Funeral services will be
conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with
Zenas Eubank and Thaddeus Eubank officiating. Burial will be in the Science

KEITH, Glen Roy, age 52 of Hwy 790, Bronston,
passed away Sunday, April 13 at the University of Washington Medical Center
in Seattle, Washington. Born July 22, 1950 in Bronston, he was the son
of Bessie New Keith of Bronston and the late Ganzie Keith. Survivors include
his mother; his wife, Lorraine Speaks Keith; a son, Eric Scott Keith of
Bronston; a daughter, Jessica Simpson of Bronston; two sisters, Jeanette
Casada and Pat Swail, both of Bronston; and a grandchild, Logan Keith.
He was preceded in death by his father;
and a brother, Kenneth Ray Keith. He was a lead lineman for South KY RECC,
was vice president of Bronston Water Association and charter member of
Bronston Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 19 at Liberty Baptist Church
with Bros. Ulanda Price and Ed Watkins officiating. Burial was in Liberty
Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy
take the form of donations to the Liberty Baptist Church Transportation

KEITH, Hulen, age 78 of Oak Hill Road, Somerset,
passed away Saturday, April 5 at Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg.
Born April 29, 1924 in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Mit and
Frona Correll Keith. Survivors include a son, Jeffery Hulen Keith of Jacksonville,
FL; three daughters, Sondra Jean Miton of Clarksville, IN, Ruby Patterson
of Somerset and Pam Bacon of Flemingsburg; a brother, Clifford Keith of
Monticello; a sister, Oreda Keith of Bedford, IN; 12 grandchildren, and
four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his
wife, Glenna Morrow Keith; four sisters, Ollie Branscum, Melda Keith, Addie
Morrow and Lura Denney; and two brothers, Starlin and Hobert Keith. He
was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran, a welder for Somerset Refinery, and a member
of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 8
at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Brown officiating.
Burial was in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family requests that expressions

KEITH, Mr. Russell Edward, age 76, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed
away Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center
in Knoxville, Tennessee. Funeral services were held Friday, July 16, 2004,
at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. David Troxell
officiating. He was laid to rest in the Cooper Cemetery. Born January
10, 1928, at Yamacraw, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Walter and Hester
Bertram Keith. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Ina Lee
Worley Keith who passed away December 23, 1999. They were married
on April 29, 1950 and they had two daughters, Barbara Tapley and her husband
Jim of Pine Knot, and Joyce Taylor also of Pine Knot. A son, Boyce
Dean Keith, a step-son, James Duncan, a brother, Sylvester Keith and a
brother-in-law Eney Worley also precedes him in death. Mr. Keith has two
surviving brothers: Thurston Keith of Smithtown and Leroy Keith and
his wife Judy of Whitley City. There are two sisters, Joyce New and
her husband Hillery of Somerset and Ruby Worley of Whitley City.
There are 10 grandchildren, Melissa Kennedy, Christie Tapley and Alesha
Tapley, Johnny Ray Taylor, Patricia Ann Taylor, Dawn Michelle Wills, Jimmy
Dean Duncan, Inez Duncan, Tammy Duncan, and Amanda Duncan and two great
grandchildren, Rayme Tapley and LeAnn Wills. Mr. Keith worked for The Stearns
Coal and Lumber Company for 21 years, and the K & T Railroad for 15
years. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII
in Japan, and was a member of the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church and
the Disabled American Veterans. Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family

Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, June 17th, 2003 at V A Medical Center, Lexington,
Kentucky. He was born January 30th, 1934 in Delta, Kentucky, a son
of the late Romer and Melda Keith Keith. He was a United States Army, Korean
Wart Veteran, a Welder for Lear Seigler Plant, Ferguson, Kentucky and a
member of Lower Turkey Creek Baptist Church, Wayne County, Kentucky. He
is survived by his wife; Jerleen Nevels Keith, whom he married on May 31st,
1975 in Pickett County, Tennessee: one son; Jackie Lynn Keith, Somerset,

KELLY, Ross;. Clearbrook Road, a retired Boyle
County conservation officer and former magistrate, died Monday at Danville
Centre for Health and Rehabilitation. He was 93. Kelly served as conservation
officer for 28 years with the state Fish and Wildlife Department. In a
1974 article about his retirement, Kelly said he always enjoyed his work.
"Well, really it's been a smooth action for me over the years. I have always
tried to enforce the laws fair and equally with everybody and have never
had any real serious problems." He did recall one sticky situation at a
creek in Garrard County. He had come upon six people seining fish, and
wondered how he would be able to arrest them all without one taking off.
When they got out of the creek, Kelly saw that they were barefoot and walking
in a single file line up a gravel road. Kelly said he realized that once
confronted the men wouldn't be able to run barefoot on gravel. Kelly added,
"They had some right nice fish." Three years after he retired, he won a
seat on Boyle Fiscal Court and served one term. Born April 2, 1911, in
Harlan, he was a son of the late Frank and Susanne Creech Kelly. He was
the first motorcycle officer with the state Highway Patrol, and was a founding
member of Lake Village Water System. He was president and founder of Boyle
Fish and Game Club, and a member of First Baptist Church. He was the widower
of Eunice Robinson Kelly. Survivors include a son, Stanley V. Kelly of
Harrodsburg; a daughter, Kelma Johnson of Danville; a brother, Frank Kelly
of Hamilton, Ohio; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services
will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Tim Mathis.
Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd and Clint

KIDD, Mr. Elves Dean - age 72, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2005, at
his home in Pine Knot, Kentucky, with his family by his side. Funeral services
were held Thursday, January 27, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine
Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Wendell Hill and Rev. Mike Casada officiating.
The eulogy was given by Schyler Jones and special music was provided by
John Stegner, Lisa Allen, and Brenda House. The pianist was Donna King.
Mr. Kidd was laid to rest in the T. Chitwood Cemetery in Pine Knot with
military honors by the United States Air Force and the McCreary Central
High School ROTC. Pall Bearers were Chris Stephens, Eric Stephens, Brandi
Kidd, April Kidd Tucker, Mark Jones, and Aaron Jones. Serving as honorary
pall bears were Lee Tribble, Kevin Juroska, David Juroska, Michael Kidd,
Micah Kidd, Jesse Dant Kidd, Barry Kidd and Jerry Ryan. He was born in
Revelo, Kentucky, on February 19, 1932, a son of the late Jessie Earl and
Madge Lee Stephens Kidd. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Glenna
E. Martin Kidd whom he married on December 23, 1952. They made their home
in Pine Knot and had three children: Deborah Elaine Stegner and her husband
John of Winchester, and Patricia Ann Jones and her husband Schyler of Pine
Knot, and a son Earl Dean Kidd and his wife Lisa of Pine Knot. There are
four brothers, Denver Gene (and Ruth) Kidd of Salem, Alabama, Lonnie (and
Janie) Kidd of Sloans Valley, KY, Robert (and Judy) Kidd of Milford, OH,
and Garry (and Jewell) Kidd of Sardinia, OH. There are four sisters, Marcella
(and Albert) Ryan of Pine Knot, Joyce (and Ray) Juroska of Ft. Worth, TX,
Eileen (and Fred) Baird of Strunk, and Sue (and Danny) Tribble of Huntsville,
AL. Dean and Glenna were blessed with six grandchildren: Chris and Eric
Stephens, Mark and Arron Jones, Brandi Kidd and April Tucker, and three
great great-grandchildren: Tobi Stephens, Jerica and Allyson Tucker. Dean
was a teacher and assistant principal for the McCreary County Schools.
He served God as a member of the Sulfur Springs United Baptist Church and
served his country as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force.
He had been a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and the

KIDD, Emma Katherine Adams, 62, Lakeside Court,
Somerset, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at her residence. She was
born May 13, 1942, in Garrard County, daughter of the late Milton and Addie
Mae Tankersley Adams. She was a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian
Church in Somerset. She was president of the Eagle’s Nest Ladies Golf Association.
She was the first female to make a hole in one at Eagle’s Nest Country
Club and a board member of Eagle’s Nest Country Club. She was also a member
of the Central Kentucky Golf Association and Lake Cumberland Ladies Golf
Association. An avid gardener, she coordinated the gardens in and around
the Eagle’s Nest area. Survivors include her husband, Eddie Phillip Kidd,
whom she married June 25, 1961, in Stanford; three daughters, Sherri Kaye
(and Jim) Smith, Stanford, and Patricia Lynn (and Shelby) Mayfield and
Rhonda Denise Kidd, both of Somerset; a brother, Donald Adams, Stanford;
six grandchildren, Kinsley Huff, Somerset, Brittany Smith, Stanford, Brandon
Mayfield, Somerset, Ryan Miller, Somerset, Tanner Smith, Stanford, and
Sara Walker, Somerset; a niece; and three nephews. She was preceded in
death by her parents and a brother, J.W. “Dub” Adams. Funeral services
will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at Somerset First Presbyterian Church with
the Rev. John Cole officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery. Friends

Monday at Harlan Nursing Home.
Born July 21, 1924, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter
of the late John K. and Bessie Hutchins Kendrick. She was a beautician
and homemaker, a member of Junction City First Baptist Church and the widow
of Bob Kidd. Survivors include two sons, Roy G. Kidd of Harlan and Robert
A. Kidd of Liberty; a daughter, Lois Lee Turner of Celina, Tenn.; and two
grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Pruitt

away Thursday, November 27th, 2003 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital,
Somerset, Kentucky. She was born July 18th, 1943 in Wayne County,
Kentucky, a daughter of the late Tifford Worley and Mollie Worley. She
was a homemaker and a member of the Slate Branch Baptist Church. She is
survived by her husband; James L. Kidd, whom she married on June 6th, 1963

KIDD, Robert Lee, 66, Bronston, Kentucky passed
away Saturday, April 3rd, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center,
Lexington, Kentucky. He was born March 3rd, 1938 in the Delta Community
of Wayne County the son of the late Charlie Kidd and Artie Phillips Kidd.
He was a United States Army Veteran, disabled and a member of the Liberty
Baptist Church in the Kidder Community for over 50 years. He is survived
by 21 nieces and nephews: 23 great nieces and nephews: several cousins:
one brother-in-law; Dallas Martin, Delta Community: one sister-in-law;
Charity Kidd, Bronston, Kentucky: four sisters; Dessie Dalton, Kidder Community,
Minnie Mathael McGee, Tennessee, Martha Lonnie Nevels, Bronston, Kentucky
and Zona Pearl Davis, Kidder Community.
He was preceded in death by his parents: two sisters;
Ola Alice Kidd and Vena Mazzie Martin: two brothers; Daniel Lowell Kidd

to Ohio and then worked for Weidner Construction retiring in 1991. He is

and Garry Lee and Renee Kidd of Fairborn, Ohio and is daughters, Patricia

KIEFFER, Rev. Lawrence C. Age 73. Saturday,
June 2, 1990 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, So., of an apparent heart
attach. He was a native of Louisville. Survived by brother,
Fred Kieffer and sister-in-law Eileen Kieffer and their seven children.
Fr. Kieffer was educated at St. Mary’s College, St. Mary, KY, and completed
his theological studies at Catholic University of America. He was
ordained in 1946. His first assignment was Pastor of Our Lady of
Lourdes, followed by St. Francis of Assisi, St. Monica, Bardstown, KY.
In 1983 he was a Pastor on Prince Edward Island, Canada. He retired
in 1986 to a cottage on the grounds of the Sisters of St. Joseph the Worker,
to spend full time for Leper Clinics throughout the world. He traveled
throughout the U.S. collecting funds for this work. He visited Africa
and India three times, and South America in connection with his Apostolate
for the lepers. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM., Tuesday,
at the St. Monica Church in Bardstown. Burial will follow at the
St. Joseph Cemetery in Versailles, KY. Friends may call from 2 until
9 PM., today at the church.

Tuesday at his home. Born Feb. 7, 1925, in Boyle County, he was the son
of the late I.E. and Mary Estes Kimberlin. He was a member of First Christian
Church, Disciples of Christ, a 50-year member of Knights of Pithias and
retired from Inter-County Energy as a material clerk. Survivors include
his wife, Emma Ray Kimberlin; and a sister, Ruth Kimberlin of Danville.

A. Cooley on November 28, 1932 and he preceded her in death on December
28, 1949. She then married Emery M. Kittle on March 9, 1953 and he preceded
her in death on December 10, 1979. Survivors include three daughters, Virginia

Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 29th, 2003 at Lake Cumberland
Regional Hospital, Somerset, Kentucky. He was born April 30th, 1930 in
Pikeville, Tennessee, a son of the late Vannie Thurman Knight and Winnie
Knight. He was employed for industrial Machine Tool & Dye, Somerset,
Kentucky and of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his wife; Gloria Mounce
Knight, whom he married on November 13th, 1971 in Norwood, Ohio: one son;

KNOX, Fermon W., retired CEO of Emmanuel
Community Center, Inc., Cincinnati, OH passed away at his home in Erlanger,
KY on October 23, 2001. Knox was twice nominated to The Kentucky Commission
on Human Rights' Hall of Fame for his dedication to civil rights for all
citizens. Knox was a native Texan and came to reside in the Northern Kentucky
area after attending Kentucky State University where he studied business
and recreational education. Married for fifty years to the now deceased,
Alyce Brown Knox. he was the proud parent of four daughters and one son.
He married the former Catherine Smith of SeguinTX, who shared his passion
for church stewardship and activities. Knox is survived by his loving wife,
Catherine; his daughters Clarice Taylor of Erlanger, KY, Jessica Perkins
of Elsmere, KY, Wendellyn Rush of Seguin, TX and Victoria Storey of Florence,
KY; his step- daughters Gloria White of Denver, CO and Dolores Major Duffey
of Seguin, TX; his step-sons David Smith of Georetown, TX and Fred Smith
of Kaiserslautern, Germany; plus a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren;
other relatives and a multitude of devoted friends. Visitation is scheduled

2004 at Somerview Personal Care Home, Somerset, Kentucky. She was born
April 30th, 1912 in Coatesville, Indiana, a daughter of the late Ezra Newton
Kersey and Ruby Evans Kersey. She was a Bookkeeper, pianist for a band
in Indianapolis in the 1930’s, taught Ballroom dancing, loved ceramics
and flower gardens. She is survived by one son; Michael Eugene Raki, Brooklyn,
New York: two daughters; Beverly Jo (and Mirl) Brown, Somerset, Kentucky
and Bonnie Jeanette (and William) Gardner, Seale, Alabama: three sisters;

London, Ky. passed away Sunday, February 13, 2005 at his home. He was born
October 1, 1956 in Wayne County, Ky., the son of the late Oliver Cordell
Koger and Susie Koger. He married Lisa Blevins, who survives. He is also
survived by one daughter-Denise Thomas of Louisville, Ky.;two brothers-Dallas

"Bob" Kondik, 83, of West Kentucky Avenue, Junction City, will be 11 a.m.

at his home. Born July 31, 1921, in Johnstown Pa., he was the son of the
late Frank and Irene Tomas Kondik. He was an Air Force veteran and a construction
