LANGFORD, Gelea Whitis, 81, Shopville Road, Somerset, Kentucky passed
away Tuesday, March 1st, 2005 at Lake Cumberland Regional
Hospital, Somerset, Kentucky. She was born March 31st, 1923 in the Shopville
Community, a daughter of the late Filmore Whitis and Ophelia Randall Whitis.
She was a homemaker, was active in Christian Women’s Club, Family Leader
of Shopville 4H, formerly Chairwoman of the Women’s Society, currently
the Director of the Pulaski County Farm Bureau and was formerly chairperson
of Farm Bureau. She was a very active member of the East Somerset Homemakers
Club, where she was formerly chairperson, and a former President of the
County Extension Homemakers. She enjoyed cooking and was a member of the
Fellowship United Methodist Church where she was formerly the Ladies Class
Sunday School Teacher. She is survived by two sons; John Thomas (and Sandy)
Langford, Shopville, Kentucky and Charles Filmore Langford, Shopville,
Kentucky: one daughter; Connie Sue (and John) Butler, Fairfield, Ohio:
2 grandchildren; John Roland Langford and Bobbie Nicole Butler: one step
grandchild; Teresa Meeks: two step great grandchildren; Ashley Owens and
Cody Evans: special 1st cousin; Elva Sears of Somerset and many other loving
cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband; John L.
Langford, whom she married on July 28th, 1945 in Shopville, Kentucky. Pallbearers
will be Wilson Sears, John David Sears, H. G. Bales, C. V. Hansford, John
Vanhook, Cody Evans, Phillip Harris and Jack Randall. Honorary pallbearers
will be Pulaski Farm Bureau Director and member of the East Somerset Homemakers
Club. Funeral services will be 2:00 p. Saturday, March 5th, 2005 at the
Fellowship United Methodist Church, Shopville, Kentucky with Reverend Glenn
Cox, Reverend Leonard Sears and Reverend Jody Vansickle officiating. Burial
will be in Peyton Randall Family Cemetery, Shopville, Kentucky. Visitation
will be after 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 4th, 2005 at Lake Cumberland Funeral

LASH, Fern Roselyn, age 43 years, 8 months, and 1 day, of Stanford,
Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 6, 2005 at her home.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 11, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. at the
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Clinton Dobbs officiating. She was
born June 5, 1961 in Philadelphia, PA to Morris Lash and Sybil Silverstien
Lash. Fern was a homemaker and a member of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church.
She enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening, and bragging on her children.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Sybil Silverstien Lash. Survivors
include her father, Morris Lash, of Anderson, South Carolina, three sons,
Jeremiah Terry, Isaiah Terry, and Don Terry, all of Stearns, Kentucky,
a daughter, Sybil Terry, of Stearns, Kentucky, two brothers, Phillip Lash,
of Florida, and Leonard Lash, of South Carolina, an aunt, Wilma Steiner,
two cousins, Jennifer Steiner and Jim Steiner, and the father of her children,
Gary Terry, of Stearns, Kentucky. Condolences may be emailed to the family

LEE, Vangie Belle Neeley Hudson, 92, Greystone Manor, Somerset, Kentucky,
formerly of the Oak Hill Community passed away Tuesday, March 16th, 2004
at Britthaven of Somerset, Somerset, Kentucky. She was born October 16th,
1911 in the Oak Hill community, a daughter of the late Terrell Neeley and
Dellie Ann Canada Neeley. She was a Dietician for the Somerset City Hospital,
was a member of the Widow to Widow Support Group and a member of the West
Somerset Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons; James Paul (and Delores)
Hudson, Lexington, Kentucky and Bennie Ray (and Laura) Hudson, Somerset,
Kentucky: three daughters; Margaret Ann (and Frankie) Wilson, Helen Louise
(and Johnny) Mounce and Patty Jean (and Don) Wilson all both of Somerset,
Kentucky: 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren:
her 1st husband; Ed Lewis Hudson, Somerset, Kentucky, whom she married
on December 25th, 1932. She was preceded in death by her parents: her 2nd
husband: Jess Lee: five brothers; Everett, Faye, Bob, Joe and Georgia Neeley:
three sisters; Bertha Tucker, Esther Floyd and Alfa Neeley and 2 great
grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 19th,
2004 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Larry Butte
officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Somerset, Kentucky.
Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18th, 2004 at Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations

LEWIS, Constance Margaret, 80, WTLO Road, Somerset, Kentucky passed
away Tuesday, March 29th, 2005 at Lake Cumberland Regional
Hospital, Somerset, Kentucky. She was born October 3rd, 1924 in Salem,
Iowa, daughter of the late Otis Everett Coleman and Ruth Ann Ingrim. She
was a homemaker, a beloved mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader,
historian and artist who loved opera. She was a member of St. Patrick Episcopal
Church. She is survived by one son; Kevin (and Barbara) Lewis, Katy, Texas:
four daughters; Leannah (and Charles) Mayo, Alvaton, Kentucky, Sarah (and
Bud) Meece, Ferguson, Kentucky, Wendy (and Bruce) Walker, Louisville, Kentucky
and Sheilah Franklin, Somerset, Kentucky: one step daughter; Jan (and Don)
Carnahan, Catchani, Oregon: one brother; Michael R. Coleman, Gardenerville,
Nevada: 14 grandchildren; Catherine Eastwood, Charles Mayo, Jr., Richard
Lewis, III, Suzanne Forrester, Benjamin Lewis, Marsha Meece - Smith, Sherry
Meece, Alex Meece, Lewis Walker, Margaret Green, Amanda Johnson, Daniele
Lewis, Sarah Franklin, Mariah Franklin: 19 great grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her husband; Richard Quintin Lewis, Sr., whom she
married on December 1st, 1945 in Astoria, Oregon: one son; Richard Quintin
Lewis, Jr.: one grandson; Rodney Meece: one granddaughter; Rachael Franklin.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2nd, 2005 at St.
Patrick Episcopal Church with Reverend Dana Hardwick officiating. Expressions
of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Legion Post

LEWIS, Ralph C., 55, WTLO Road, Somerset, Kentucky passed away
Tuesday,
March 29th, 2005 at his residence. He was born June 23rd, 1949
in Hazard, Kentucky, son of Corbin Lewis and Nadine Day Lewis, both of
Glasgow, Kentucky. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University with an associate
degree, worked for Bayer Health Care and a member of Victory Christian
Fellowship, Somerset, Kentucky. He is survived by his parents: one son;
Shane Lewis, Somerset, Kentucky: one daughter; Sarah Lewis, Somerset, Kentucky:
three sisters; Pam (and Gary) Waters, Glasgow, Kentucky, Janet Sadler,
Glasgow, Kentucky and Barbara (and David) Matthews, Glasgow, Kentucky:
2 grandchildren; Haley Jo Lewis and Jennifer Gaunce. Funeral services will
be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2nd, 2005 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland
Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Harrell and Brother Don Sams officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Somerset, Kentucky. Visitation
will be from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., CST at A. F. Crow & Sons, Glasgow,
Kentucky and after 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 1st, 2005 at Lake Cumberland

Somerset Obits
LOGAN, Roger, age 69 years, 2 months, and 17 days, of Whitley City,
Kentucky passed away Sunday, February 20, 2005 in Somerset,
Kentucky. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 8:00
p.m. at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Davis officiating.
Burial was on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Methodist
Cemetery with Bro. Lenville Maxwell officiating. He was born December 3,
1935 in Corbin, Kentucky to Eli Logan and Verne Stinson Logan. Roger proudly
served his country as a United States Marine. He was a graduate of Eastern
Kentucky State College with a double major in Health and Physical Education
and Geography and Geology. After graduating, he taught in the McCreary
County School System before working for Southern Railway System. In 1977
Roger became a Special Enforcement Officer for the Kentucky Department
of Transportation: Kentucky Bureau of State Police. He worked with the
Kentucky Department of Parks as a park ranger from 1982 until his retirement.
Roger was a member of the First Baptist Church, Whitley City, the American
Legion, a past member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and had the honor
of being named a Kentucky Colonel. Preceding him in death were his parents
and two sisters, Marjorie Logan and Imogene Logan. Survivors include his
wife, Marie Logan of Whitley City, Kentucky, three sons, Roger Logan, II,
and his wife, Sandi, of Oneida, Tennessee, Clark Stephens Logan of Danville,
Kentucky, and Craig Stephens Logan of Lexington, Kentucky, and a granddaughter,
