O'BRIEN, John J., 90, formerly of Mt. Healthy, husband of Mary L. (Lovell) O'Brien, died at his home in Cape Coral, FL on Thursday, October 26, 2001. He was born April 16, 1911 in Ludlow, KY, son of Dennis L. O'Brien and Adelaide Winterman. He worked as a mechanic for the B&O Railroad in
Cincinnati, OH for many years before retiring and moving to Cape Coral, FL. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Mary, daughter Jean (William) Miller of Dayton, OH, three granddaughters, Sharon (Jim) Lingg of Denver, CO, Susan Miller of BeaverCreek, OH, Sandy (Jim) Telldohann of Houston, TX,

O’MALLEY, Ann Reid; - 86, of South Third Street, died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Oct. 3, 1917, in Hustonville, she was the daughter of the late Leslie McMurtry Reid Sr. and Marian Clarice Purdom Reid. She was an elementary school teacher at Kentucky School for the Deaf and retired as the supervising teacher. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, a 1935 graduate of Danville High School, a 1939 graduate of Centre College, and earned a degree in deaf studies from Gallaudet University. Survivors include a daughter, Lynne Crowder of Little Rock, Ark.; two sons, Stephen O'Malley of Chicago, Ill., and Brian O'Malley of Danville; and four grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home by the Revs. Quentin Scholtz and Don Benningfield. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. OAKES, Betty Jane, 57 of Pine Grove Road, Stanford, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1993 at her home. A native of Lincoln County, she was born July 21, 1936 to the late James and Delphia Spears. She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ. Survivors include a friend, Cecil Smallwood who provided a home for her; and several nephews.  Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Martin Funeral Home with Bor. OAKES- James, age 76, of Rt. 1, Stanford died Saturday, July 26 at Harrison Nursing Home in Lexington of a short illness. He was born May 2, 1910 in ____ Bluff, Arkansas to the late William Vernon and Emily E Oakes. He worked at the Stanford __amery and was a farmer. He was a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ. His wife preceded him in death. Survivors include one daughter, Betty Jane Oaks, Rt.1, Stanford; three brothers, Jason Oakes of Lancaster, Pa. and Jacob and Willie Oakes both of Tennessee; six sisters, Effie McBain of Mount View, Ark., Bertha Wicks of Greenville, Mabel White of Calif., Aleene Rice of Portland, Maine, Ellen Arnell of Madison, Wis., and Nora Ann Sipple of Paint Lick and two half sisters, Cybil Inez and Lydia Oaks both of Larue, Ky. OAKS, Arthur -STANFORD - Services for Arthur Oaks, 68, of Stanford, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital. Born March 1, 1936, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Melissa Oaks. He was owner of Action Automotive Parts for 32 years and the widower of Wanda L. Oaks. OAKS, Delphia Mae Spears, age 71, of Rt.1, Stanford, died May 29, 1981 at the Fort Logan Hospital of a long illness.  Born Sept. 18, 1909, in Lincoln County to the late Greenberry and Chroletta Kidd Spears. She was a housewife and a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ.   Survivors are here husband, James Oaks, Stanford; one daughter, Betty Jane Oaks, Stanford; one brother, Ed spears, Fairland, Indiana; one sister, Viola Manuel of Stanford.   Services were held Monday at the Martin Funeral Home with Bro. OGLE, Jack W. - Services for Jack Wesley Ogle, 36, of Ky. 78, Stanford, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McKinney Baptist Church by the Rev. Jim Norman. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. He died Monday at Fort Logan Hospital. Born Oct. 29, 1967, in Mercer County, he was the son of Mary Webb Ogle of Hustonville and the late James W. Ogle. OLDS, John L., -MT. CARMEL, ILL. - John L. Olds, 89, of Mt.Carmel, died Friday in his home.  Formerly of Stanford and Hustonville, he was born Sept. 27, 1914, in Angeles, Texas, to E.O. and Lillian Gaither Olds. He was the widower of Marcella Warnock and the husband of Rose Mary Shepard Courter. He was a WWII shipyard worker, a dairy farmer and involved in the oil business. He was an ordained deacon and elder of Wabash Presbyterian Church.  He is survived by seven children, Mary-Nance Miller of Charleston, Ill., Johnni Olds of San Francisco, Lynne Reid of Westerville, Ohio, Kathy Wellerman of Mt. Carmel, Ill., Rick Olds of West Linn, Ore., Shawn Courter of Austin, Texas, and Kevin Courter of Lemont, Ill.; one sister, Mary Olds of Casper, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Olds; and a daughter, Marcelee Olds.  Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wabash Presbyterian Church. OLIVER, Lonzie Edward - LANCASTER - Lonzie Edward Oliver, 83, of Danville Street, died Wednesday at Christian Care Center of Lancaster. Born Dec. 19, 1921, he was the son of the late Robert and Jennie Long Oliver. He was a retired farmer and carpenter and Army veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Mary Etta Lewis Oliver. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Clark of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Zora Oliver of Lancaster and Elwood Oliver of Florida; a sister, Edna Botts of Tampa; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. OSBORNE, Conrad, 86, of 2115 Good Hope Rd., Eubank, passed away April 13, 2001 at his residence. He was born in Pulaski Co., August 4, 1914, son of George M. Osborne and Lula (Larkin) Osborne. He was a retired farmer, Deacon for 53 years at Good Hope Baptist Church, Director in Farm Bureau for several years, a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and he died on "Good Friday".        Survivors include his wife, Ruby (Epperson) Osborne, whom he married on Sept. 21, 193, three sons,    Gerald (Linda) Osborne of Greenville, NC, Forest (Teresa) Osborne of Rolling Prarie, IN, Gary Osborne of Lexington, KY, two daughters, Joyce (Bob) Halsey of Harrodsburg, KY, Jeanette (Lonnie) Wilson of  Elizabethtown, KY, a sister, Gloria (Ben) Wesley, a brother, Willard (Lucy) Osborne both of Somerset,  twelve grandchildren, Fields Halsey, Whitney Vitatoe, Anthony Osborne, Lynn Nealy, Angie Hand, Kim  Osborne, Timothy Osborn, David Osborne, Stuart Wilson, Nathan Wilson, Dana Winchester and  Chris Osborne, several step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald and Victor Osborne. OSBORNE,  Loretta B.; (nee Lee), beloved wife of the late William Osborne, loving mother of Helen Moore and Betty Widmer.  She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.  Died Tuesday, December 15, 1998, age 94.  Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family c/o Neidhard-Hensley Funeral Home, Mt. OSBORNE, Nellie Mae Stockton, 80, of 127 Mitchell Street, died     February 16, 2001. A longtime resident of Athens, she was a daughter of the late William McKinley and Alice Mae Bell Standridge Stockton, and the widow of Grady Vasco Seymour and Robert Osborne. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Seymour. She was retired from Chicopee Mills with over 40 years of employment and was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, East. Rev.      Walter Singletary will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.  She died Thursday at her son's home in Danville. Born June 18, 1924, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Graf Egger. She was the widow of J.C. Overstreet III. She was a retired employee of Servomation and a member of Mount Freeman Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Robert Overstreet of Junction City, John C. Overstreet of Chadron, Neb., and Dr. David Overstreet of Danville; two sisters, Marie Jackson of Shelbyville and Freida Fields of Jenkins; and seven grandchildren. Overstreet, Mosie,- LIBERTY - Mosie Overstreet, 90, of Red Hill Road, Dunnville, died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Nov. 5, 1914, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Irvin and Myrtie Crockett Overstreet. He was a retired farmer, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Survivors include a brother, Cecil Overstreet of Lexington. Services will be noon Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Ed Parton. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery with military rites by Casey County Funeral Squad. Overton, Odessa, age 78, of New Castle, Ind. passed away Thursday, June 24, 2004 at Henry County Memorial Hospital. She was born August 5, 1925 in Wayne County Ky., the daughter of the late Clinton and Elta Owens Davis. She is survived by one son-Oscar Overton, Jr. of Lexington, Ky.; one daughter-Dillis A. Moore of New Castle, Ind.; one sister-Maudeana Brewer of New Castle; two brothers-Kenneth Davis of Monticello, Ky. and Carson Davis of New Castle, Ind.; two grandsons; two step-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was one sister-Della Grace Huckaby. She was a homemaker. She attended First Church of the Nazarene and previously attended Westview Church of the Nazarene and Spiceland Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services were held Monday, June 28, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Max Downs and Rev. Terry Rowland officiating. Burial was in Mooreland Cemetery. OWENS- Irene James, passed away at her home in Daytona Beach, Fla., on July 23, 1986 after a long illness. She was born in Lincoln County on June 16, 1915. The youngest daughter of James Garland James and Frances Oakes James. Survivors are her husband Herbert Owens; one son, Ron Owens; and a daughter-in-law, Jennie; one grandchild, Rebecca Owens, all of Daytona Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Tucker, Stanford, Mrs. Ruby O'Dear, Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Alice French, Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Eva French, Wyandotte, Mich.: one brother, Clyde James of Somerset. Owens, Paul D.,CRAB ORCHARD - Paul Dean Owens, 67, of Copper Creek Road, died Wednesday at his home. Born Aug. 21, 1937, in Reading, Ohio, he was a son of the late George and Sally Debord Owens. He was a member of Crab Orchard Christian Church, a Navy veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Justice Gay Randolph Owens; three daughters, Wanda Owens of Berea, Gina Howard and Carl Randolph, both of Crab Orchard; a brother, Truman Owens of Crab Orchard; a sister, Mildred Helton of Crab Orchard; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Jones Owens. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home by Bobby Turner. Owens, Truman;  CRAB ORCHARD - Services for Truman Owens, 74, of Crab Orchard, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel by Cecil Roundtree, Ron Meece and Barry Delaney. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18, American Legion of Stanford.  He died Thursday at his home.  Born March 10, 1931, in Reading, Ohio, he was a son of the late George and Sally Debord Owens. He was a deacon of Immanuel Baptist Church and a veteran of the Army.  Survivors include his wife, Ruby L. Shelton Owens; three sons, James G. Owens, Robert T. Owens and Jackie Owens, all of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Sallie C. Adams of Crab Orchard and Ruby M. Wilhelm of Pikeville; a sister, Mildred Helton of Crab Orchard; six granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.  Pallbearers will be Bill, Ray, John, Truman, Dave, Tea and Ed Shelton.  Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.    Pub Danville AM 3/18/2005
