Abney, Mitzi Lee;, Willard,MO, passed away Friday evening in St. John's
Hospital, Springfield, following complications from a brain hemorrhage.
Mitzi was born in Springfield, Mo., on January 10, 1968, the daughter of
Jess and Margaret (Kime) Abney. She was a graduate of Willard High School
in 1984 and Drury College in 1988. She lettered all four years at Willard
High School in basketball, volleyball, track and golf. She was the Missouri
state long jump champion. While at Drury, she played volleyball. Mitzi
was a free spirit and lover of children and animals. She was a Christian
and a loving and caring person. Her wish to be an organ donor was honored.
By giving of her self, other individuals can continue to live and enjoy
life. Mitzi is survived by her parents, Jess and Margaret Abney, of Willard,
Mo.; one sister, Melody and husband, Ron Huffman, one special nephew, Briton
Lee Feitas, all of Joplin, Mo.; her maternal grandmother, Florence Kime,
of Willard, Mo.; several cousins; one uncle; and one aunt. She was preceded
in death by her grandfather, Barney Kime and uncle, Harry Kime. A celebration
of Mitzi's life will be honored with graveside services to be held Wednesday,
March 24, 2004, at 10 a.m. in Wesley Cemetery, Willard, Mo., with interment
following under direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove,
Mo. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, where
the family will receive friends beginning at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers,
the family requests to give in memory of Mitzi, smiles, hugs and waves

Abney, Raymond Davis, 58, Etna Church Road, Eubank, Kentucky, son of
Willie Abney and Annie Wallen Abney passed away Sunday, June 5th, 2005
at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset, Kentucky. He was born February
1st, 1947 in Bourbon County, Kentucky. He was a United States Navy Vietnam
War Veteran, serving 4 years during the Vietnam War and was an Assistant
Manager for Autozone. He is survived by his wife of 34 years; Margaret
Adams Abney, whom he married on April 10th, 1971: one daughter; Melissa
(and John) Adams, Winchester, Kentucky: four brothers; Marvin (and Margie)
Abney, Arkansas, Benny (and Margaret) Abney, Massachusetts, Herman (and
Peggy) Abney, Richmond, Kentucky and Billy Abney, Irvine, Kentucky: one
sister; Opal (and Shannon) Nolan, Science Hill, Kentucky: 2 grandchildren;
Zachary Kyle and Katie Clare Adams, Winchester, Kentucky: four nieces:
five nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services
will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 8th, 2005 at the Chapel of Morris and
Hislope Funeral Home with Brother Rodney Haggard officiating. Burial will
be in Mill Springs National Cemetery, Nancy, Kentucky. Visitation will
be after 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 8th, 2005 at Morris and Hislope Funeral

ABSHER, Alta Marie, 81, Old Mayfield School Road, Eubank, passed away
on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at her home. She was born in Campground community
of Pulaski County on April 23, 1926, to the late Henry and Effie Hines
Smith. She enjoyed attending church services, going to gospel singings,
family gatherings, friends and sewing. She worked as a cake decorator and
she was a wonderful homemaker. Mrs. Absher was a 1943 graduate of Eubank
High School.She is survived by her husband, M. Kay Absher, whom she married
on July 23, 1951, in Somerset; two sons, Marce K. (and Lisa) Absher, Somerset,
and Jeff Absher, Eubank; a daughter, Kim Absher, Eubank; three brothers,
Pete Smith, Lakeland, Fla., Gene (and Jeannie) Smith, Piquia, Ohio, and
Robert Smith, Piquia, Ohio; six sisters, Ellen Comer, Somerset, Shirley
Stone, Cincinnati, Ohio, Mae Goode, Maxine Wooten and Wanda (and Bob) Westmorland,
Karolyn (and Johnny) Sheperd, all of Lakeland, Fla.; four grandchildren,
Chris (and Kristina) Absher, Jordan (and Ashley) Absher, Zachary Absher
and Chandler Absher; a great-grandson, Tyson Kristian Absher; nieces, nephews,
great-neices and nephews; an honoary granddaughter, Heather Stamper Wilson;
and many friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death
by two brothers, Andy Smith and Hardin Smith, and a sister, Iva Jasper.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, in the memory
chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pulaski
Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. today at the funeral
home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made

ACEY, Joseph L.; 22, Bend of the Lake Shore Road, Somerset, Kentucky
passed away Saturday, July 9th, 2005 at his residence. He was born June
21st, 1983 in Somerset, Kentucky, son of Clifton Acey, Sr. and Jena Loveless
Acey, both of Somerset, Kentucky. He was a warehouse stockman for Paul’s
Discount, an animal lover, a loving son and family member. He was a 2001
graduate of Pulaski County High School and attended Community Baptist Church,
Somerset, Kentucky. He is survived by his parents: Paternal Grandparents;
Bob (and Hazel) Acey, Science Hill, Kentucky: Maternal Grandparents; Mary
(and Arthur) Cook, Cedar Grove Community: two brothers; Dennis (and Amy)

ACEY, Joy Upchurch, the daughter of Lester Paul and Denise Martin
Upchurch, was born at Somerset, Ky. on December 19, 1987 and departed this
life on Saturday, July 09, 2005 at her residence, having attained the age
of 17 years. Survivors include her parents; two brothers, Anthony
Upchurch and Corey Upchurch, both of Burnside, Ky.; a sister, Jacqueline
Denise Upchurch of Brunside, Ky.; and her paternal grandmother, Juanita
Alton. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Etil
Upchurch. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July
14, 2005 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. James Upchurch
and Rev. David Carr officiating. Pulaski Funeral Home

ADAMS, ALOMA; DIES AT HOME: Mrs. Aloma J. Adams, 44, of 1916
Lincoln Blvd., Sellersburg, (IN) died at 2:30 pm, Friday at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Adams; three sons, James Adams of
Ludlow, Ky., Tommy Adams, Newport, KY., and Bobby Adams, Sellersburg; one
daughter, Miss Deanna Adams, Sellersburg; two step-daughters, Miss Anglia
Adams, Ludlow, KY. and Mrs. Gayle Adams, Newport, KY; and two grandchildren.

ADINGTON, Anna Mae, 79, of Eubank, passed away Tuesday, July 17th,
2007 at Christian Care Center in Lancaster. Born Monday, January
30th, 1928 in Lincoln County to the late William Braz & Nannie Phillippe
Parker McKinney. She is the widow of Darwin Ray Adington. A founding Member
of Cuba Community Church of God in Eubank, Anna was a Sunday School teacher
and President of Ladies Auxiliary. Anna was a homemaker and former
store clerk. Survivors include two sons, Danny R. (Barbara) Adington of
Waynesburg and Lanny Jay (Joyce Bunch) Adington of Eubank; a daughter,
Brenda Sue Adington Rice of Scottsville, Ky and she partially raised Delvin
Williams of Eubank as a son; six grandchildren Denise Evonne (Brian) Starnes,
Darrin Ray Adington, Melanie Martinez, Kaelyn Keith, William Braz
Adington and Christy Faye Estes; eight great-grandchildren Joshua Aaron
Starnes, Mya Elizabeth Starnes, Emily Claire Starnes, Maria Martinez, Olivia
Martinez, Angel Harris, Andrew Lee Estes, and Jacqueline Diane Adington.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Darwin Ray Adington, 12 half-brothers
and half-sisters, and an infant son. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00
AM, Friday, July 20th, 2007 at Cuba Community Church of God in Eubank with
Pastor Troy Roberts officiating. Burial will be in McKinney Cemetery
in Eubank. Visitation beginning at 6pm on Thursday, July 19th, 2007

ALCORN, Antha, age 83 years and 6 days, passed away Wednesday, January
26, 2005 in Lexington, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Saturday, January
29, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Whitley City First Baptist Church with Bro.
Ronald Davis officiating. Burial followed in the McCreary Memorial Gardens.She
was born January 20, 1922 in Bell County, Kentucky to Arsbur Perry and
Myra Hatmaker Perry. Antha came to McCreary County in 1939 from Laurel
County. She graduated from McCreary County High School in 1940 and after
graduation she worked for Renfro and Georgia Lovett at the Dime Store.
Antha married William Alcorn on April 12, 1942 and they moved to Norfolk,
Virginia. In 1946 they returned to McCreary County and operated their own
business, Alcorn’s Radio, TV, and Appliances until their retirement. She
was a member of the Whitley City First Baptist Church where she taught
Sunday School, training union, and G.A.’s for many years. Preceding her
in death were her parents, her husband, William Edwin Alcorn, a sister,
Omega Sutton, a grandson, Jason Alcorn. Survivors include two sons, Roger
Alcorn and his wife, Marilyn, of Land O Lakes, Florida, and Stan Alcorn,
of Whitley City, Kentucky, two brothers, James W. “Jay” Perry and his wife,
Norma, of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Augustus “Gus” Perry and his
wife, Dean, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and a grandson, John W. Alcorn and
his wife, Rebecca, and a special little friend, Holly Singleton.Condolences

Ard, Robert “Buck”, 59, Somerset, died Friday, August 6 (2004) at Lake
Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born September 12, 1944 in the
Ringgold community of Pulaski County to the late Hobert and Ruby Bell Ard.
He married Verna Dick Ard on July 16, 1965 in Chicago, Ill. He was employed
as a construction worker and pipe layer. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors
include his wife, Verna; three sons, Jeff (and Margaret) Dick, Somerset,
Jerry Ard, Somerset and Ronald Ard, Somerset; a brother, Arthur Lee (and
Wilma) Ard, Somerset; three sisters, Mildred (and Glenn) Leisure, Chicago,
Ill., Betty (and Wayne) Ping, Somerset, and Linda (and Bobby) Mattox, Somerset;
two sister-in-laws, Helen Ard, Somerset, and Wanda Ard, Somerset; and three
grandchildren, Christopher Dick, Morgan Avera, and Tyler Ard. He is preceded
in death by his parents and four brothers, Donald Girdler, Elza Ard, Leslie
Ard and Lloyd Ard. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August
