We think that Johann and Anna were from Honowajdy in Wirsitz (Wyrzysk) West Prussia Bydgoszcz in Poland. The parish church records in Wirsitz show a Jan and Anna with children with the same names and ages as our Walloch family. We do know that the family came to America on the ship Republic that went from Bremen to New York on 17 May 1871.
Johann and Anna had seven children: Joseph (1856-1905), John (1857-1906), Rosalia Walloch Noryskiewicz (b 1863), Stanislaus 1866-1899), Eva Walloch Huebner (my grandmother), Kate, and Franciska (b. about 1871). Unfortunately, Johann died just 9 years after reaching this country (1830-1880). Anna lived with some of the children in Milwaukee. She died in 1913 at age 67. John was listed as a laborer in the 1880 census.
