Warner's is giving the
video release a pretty big push compared to the way the theatrical release
was handled. A conference was held to show the new cover art for the VHS
and DVD release, as well as mention some of the extras included in the
DVD.
You can view the article these
images came from by visiting DVD Review HERE.
A much more "kid friendly" approach
on the Disney-clamshell VHS - the final image will include a town down
below. It appears about as far away from the 50's sci-fi theatrical
poster (which hangs in front of me now!) as you can get.
Very nice, although the article
implies that this image might change a bit. If you look at the VISUALS
section you can see the original painting by Mark Whiting that this is
based on in the preproduction art - although the spot lights and dramatic
symetrical background are quite cool too! This is obviously marketed
more for the adult DVD buyers.
Here's some of the crew from the
press conference. You can read the article that these pics are from
by CLICKING
HERE. You can see Brad Bird (director) Vin Diesel (voice of the
Giant) and some Warner Exec whos name wasn't printed with the article -
any ideas?
