ENCOURAGEMENT
Our subject today is on the word “ENCOURAGE”. What does encourage mean? The dictionary defines it as to give inspiration: · Hope or Confidence. · Give Support/Help One form is physical: “I’m encouraged to wear these glasses if I want to see anything.” Another form is how we support and care for each other. Paul a Minister (Apostle) of Christ wrote letters to the Church's always containing words of encouragement. Let’s look at a portion of one of Paul's letters to the Thessalonians. 1 Thessalonians 5-11: "Wherefore encourage yourselves together and build up one another.” Paul was telling them to strengthen and praise one another. His words encouraged them to learn about and follow Christ. The death of Christ on the cross is one of the highest forms of encouragement. He gave of himself to show us hope for life: · To inspire in us confidence. · A belief that there is a GOD. · To know that GOD cares for us. Christ died for us so shouldn't we at least practice the golden rule: "DO UNTO OTHER'S AS WE WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO US”
His was a message that teaches us to help and support those around us. This should be an inspiration for the way we live our life. I try to remember that everything on this planet belongs to GOD. It's through his grace that I am here today. My words of encouragement for both parents and children are to:
· Read your
Bible: There are some very interesting stories in it. They coverfrom the beginning to the end of time. · Seek Truth: About GOD and Christ. · Encourage others: We all need support when we have problems. · Children honor your parents - Parents teach your children well. · Just to show we care is a way of helping others. · GOD and Christ love's each of you and their desire is for you to love each other. MAY JOY, PEACE AND HAPPINESS BE THINE!
