LEARNING TO PRAY
A major problem with prayer is that we don't  learn how to pray.  When we are called upon to pray we decline because we don't feel comfortable doing it and pass the buck to someone else.  Learning to pray must start in the home.  It certainly won't be taught in the Schools for we have let the Devils Disciples kill that right.  Don't expect Sunday School or Church to be its only provider.  Prayers are not limited to Christian believers for it's a well know fact that non-believers have occasion to pray when in trouble or need divine help.  Most people seek GOD'S help when in trouble, however they forget to thank him thereafter.  Example:  We pray for rain during droughts, he sends rain according to his time, and we go on doing whatever we're doing without ever saying "Thank you LORD for the rain"

Parents and Grandparents the time to teach your children is when they are small. Begin at an early age to tell them its meaning, importance and helping them learn short prayers.  As they grow older expand the prayers so if they are called upon they will feel comfortable and able to pray.  JESUS taught his disciples how to pray and gave all of us the Lord's Prayer.  It was not to end there for we should speak to GOD about things concerning everyday life.  If Prayer is made a part of a child's growth it will strengthen them later in life.

Prayers should become a daily ritual.  Some times that provide the best opportunities for teaching your children are:
  • When awakening in the morning - giving thanks for the new day.
  • At meal time - giving thanks for the food and blessings received.
  • Bedtime - requesting forgiveness of sin and remembering others.
Teach your children well for their very life may depend upon it!  GOD does not answer every prayer.  He answers those that are done in faith and in accordance with his plans for us.
