TALL STACKS 2003

Every four years, steamboats from Pittsburgh to New Orleans gather along the shores of the Ohio River at Cincinnati

for a nostalgic trip back in time to the era when steamboats ruled America's rivers. This much anticipated reunion of

historic riverboats honoring the city's steamboat heritage is known as TALL STACKS. The event began in 1988 as

part of Cincinnati's Bicentennial celebration and has repeated four times since - most recently October 15 - 19, 2003.

THE TALL STACKS MUSIC, ARTS & HERITAGE FESTIVAL

Seventeen riverboats officially participated in TALL STACKS 2003 offering harbor, lunch,

dinner, moonlight and theme cruises for their passengers. BB Riverboat's Belle of Cincinnati

was not an official representative, but is included because of her highly visible presence

throughout the event. The eighteen boats are pictured 'in action' below.
