We the members of the Forty Over Club dedicate this home page to the ones that now live
in our hearts and minds, who key is now silent. John AB4UG, John Bob WW8O, and
Jack KB8DP. All three of these great members have left lasting impressions on the members
of the Forty Over Club.

Who We Are

The Forty Over Club was   started by group of Ham radio   operators that met nightly on 75 meters.
After several months and endless hours of conversations, it was decided that we needed a way to
identify ourselves.   Most of us had never met each other and had no idea who to look for at hamfest
and other places where Hams meet.    I guess you could give credit to Dave KZ4G, David K8DV,
and John Bob WW8O (SK) who where the ones that got the ball rolling. Since the beginning in 1990
to the present we have grown from the original 3 members to about 30 members today. With the help
of Steve K8SE, the club   adopted a logo which he designed and then we had shirts, jackets, hats, and
name badges made. By doing this it gave us some identity at   different events we may attend. To
be come a member of the Forty Over Club you have to be asked to join by one of the active members.
We decided we wanted to keep it a loose but fun organization so it
was decided that there would be no club president or other officers, although we do have
different members doing different things for the benefit of the club. The club has several
different outings during the year, the club always has a space and tables at the
Dayton Hamvention and a Christmas party each year, where
members reminisce and have a wonderful time.

So if you are ever at a Ham radio outing and spot someone with a
Forty Over Club logo item on, stop and say
HI and ask about the Club, we will be happy to meet and talk with you about it.
