Best viewed at 1024*768 Archive 1 3-25-2004 Well, this is it, kids. Time to say goodbye to this page and move on. It was a good learning experience for me and (hopefully) an entertaining place for all of you. I've matured a bit, and as such, I need a new place to call home. So, I would like to introduce the Realm Of Mir: ![]() 5-26-2003 Been a little while. Just a minor update to fix some bugs that a friend told me about. I really should comb through the links section and test to see if any of those links are even valid anymore. Then again for history's sake maybe I shouldn't. After building up my characters to a criminally high level, the heroin that is q2wf pulled me away and now I am playing Baldur's Gate II and Neverwinter Nights, so God only knows when I'll get to back to FF Quest (not my Mystic Quest, hehe). Hopefully I'll get some more content up soon. Summer is just around the corner, so time won't be as much of an issue anymore. 1-27-2003 Just some cosmetic changes for this update. I wanted to make the menu bar a little more separate from the main body of the page. This is sort of a work in progress that will hopefully look very nice, or at least nicer than before, hehe. I also took off the borders of image links. They were quite annoying and I wonder why I didn't do so earlier. I just finished Silent Hill 2 (highly, highly recommended) and I may do a piece on the story (and a great story it is) and maybe a scrapbook if I ever find the screenshot button. I FINALLY beat the Sea Shrine in Final Fantasy. It was not a matter of dificulty, but of simply finding the time to do it. Despite what this site will tell you, Kraken is actually fairly tough, and is the hardest of the fiends so far. I then proceeded to beat the Sky Castle, defeating both WarMech and Tiamat. Tiamat was fairly hard, almost as hard as Kraken. Warmech, thankfully never got off a shot of NUCLEAR so he wasn't much of a challenge. Now I just have to buy myself 99 potions (bleh) and I'm off the Temple of Fiends. I am also slowly, but surely, crafting a scratch built TMP mod for Star Fleet Command 2. So far I have over half of the Federation fleet finished. Once done I may give you some shots to look at. Stay tuned. 1-2-2003 Alrighty. I've put up a Starfleet Command scrapbook. One of many I hope to put (where have I heard that before...). There are so many battles to recreate, I could have quite a few. I may also do a review of Starfleet Command 3. I don't know when I will have the Quake 2 WF section up. Hopefully soon. I have quite abit of vacation left. Recently I decided I was going to play through all the Final Fantasies and beat them all (up to IX at least). So far I am almost finished with the original (I will head to the Sea Shrine soon) and will then play through them sequentially. I may put up a log of my "adventure". I don't know whether I will play through the ones I have beaten (VII and Tactics) or whether I will play through those that are Final Fantasy in name only (the Game Boy Final Fantasies which were SaGa and Seiken Densetsu games in Japan). I am a little wary of playing though II and VIII. II has a very bizarre gameplay style and I have never been able to stick with VIII long enough. Hopefully I can get through I, and finish a good chunk of II by the end of Christmas break. Well, that about covers it. I suppose you want a random picture. Well, since I will soon start FF II, here is a shot of FF II for the WSC.
1-1-2003 I finally broke down and did something I have wanted to do for a long time: make buttons for my site. No longer will the archaic navigation bar be an anachronistic throwback! On the minus side it increases the transfer time of an already image heavy page. I will not add buttons for the DB page since, as I said before, I will no longer update that page. I don't know whether I will convert some of my other text-only parts (like some of the titles to pages) to pictures, but I will look into it. I plan on adding a Quake 2 WF memorial with screenshots from my 3+ years of playing the game. I may post a link on BioSentral to show some of the nostalgic WFers. We'll see. I have to make the page of course first and that will involve pouring through about a dozen or so recordings of clan matches, pub games, and other fun stuff I've collected over the years. Lately I have been playing some of my old favorites so my random screenshot of the day is from the WSC version of Final Fantasy. A PSX version will be released in March I believe, so get those pre-orders ready! Until next time. Ineffective.
9-16-2002 So you''re telling me there is an update? No way! I mean come on he hasn't updated the site in eons! Indeed I haven't. The pressures of school, a rekindled Q2WF addiction, and an exploding harddrive lead me to neglect my humble little creation. But now I hope to put up some more stuff. Obviously the site is pretty outdated (my odd fascination with Dragon Ball it all but gone, plus so many things I promised for this site probably won't happen), but I still want to try and update it. It seems unfinished, and I would like to add more to it to make it seem more complete. I will update some of the pages over the next week (I hope, I have certainly said the same thing before). So stay tuned! 11-18-2001 Major update. I totally redid the site so it no longer uses frames any more. This has several advantages for me, and a couple disadvantages, but I think it's for the best. I updated only a couple sections because of this, but will be updating more (of course) later. Well, the second episode 2 trailer came out yesterday and it gets a very mixed reaction from me. On the one hand, the FX are awesome, the plot (from what little I could get from it) seemed interesting, and the acting was ok with a few exceptions. Unfortunately I am not so happy with Hayden Christiansons performance of Anakin. I don't want to jump to conclusions, since this is a mere trailer, but his acting was very forced and methodical. I'll be glad to be proven wrong in the theater in May, but that is how it stands now. I hope Lucas doesn't drop the ball with Episodes 2 and 3. Also, yesterday was the end of Bleem Inc. Nobody knows why (although many have speculations on the how part), but it seems Bleemcast and Bleem PC will no longer be produced and updated. This is a very sad day for the emulation community. The end may be bitter sweet if the source code to either was released, but that's ultimately up to Randy, the lead programmer. RIP Bleem.
11-4-2001 Been a while but I'm still alive! Updated a few sections and stuff. Not really sure where I will go with the scrapbooks yet, but I will know soon. Newswise, I will be building a new computer in the next couple months (hopefully). Probably be an Athlon TBird 1400 Mhz, some kind of Asus mobo, 256 MB DDR, and whatever else I want. Once the funds are available I will begin assembly. The Episode 2 teaser premiered at Pixar's Monsters Inc. and the reviews were basically negative, of course it's just a teaser so expectations shouldn't have been quite as high as they were. The movie comes out sometime in May next summer and hopefully a lame title doesn't mean a lame film (damn well better not!). For a good laugh go to Microsoft's web site (here for the lazy) and watch the Windows XP launch. Pitifully funny for the wrong reasons. I do like the fact that in some parts Regis Philbin (*sigh* yes, he's there) actually adlibs and comes off rather funny (at the expense of MS) and even caught the clueless MS techie offguard with a good question that the techie stumbles over for a second (something about wireless networks at airports I think). I wonder if he got any flack for it considering it was probably a very scripted event. Hehe, watch as Bill leaves the auditorium via the backstage exit to go to "Times Square" but the camera stays on the door too long as Bill walks right back into the studio backstage! So much for the script. Oh and your random pic of the day is a beautiful screenshot of JDoom with MD2 models:
10-11-2001 A major overhaul of the scrapbooks section has finally been done and a few sections have been updated/improved as well. Expect more improvements and updates to the site in the near future (including a new editorial). In news action, Windows XP ships the 25th (I think), and to be honest looks rather nice from the screenshots, but looks can be decieving. I have heard horror stories of mandatory registrations, inability to use certain programs and bloat that makes Office look lean. I doubt I'll be getting a copy any time soon (if anything I would get NT 4.0 or 2000) unless they give some $150 student discount or something. If Microsoft was really smart they'd give the OS away for free, then charged enormous sums for their other programs like Office and Visual Studio, but that's another story entirely. That's about all I have for today. Take a look at the new stuff and be prepared for more on the way. G'night. 9-29-2001 Linux Mandrake 8.1 was relased on Thursday and I had to have it. I must have used 3 or 4 separate mirrors to download the thing over a period of 10 hours. Everybody, it seemed, wanted to get it and I was only able to install it the next day. I expected it to have all the cool stuff the betas and the RC had but without the bugs. Unfortunately that is not exactly the case. The bugs remained and new ones cropped up and couldn't be squashed. Suffice it to say I will probably be going back to Red Hat 7.1.94 soon. Oh well, I'm sure I'll probably get 8.2 (whenever that will be) and see if things improve. Anyways I updated a few sections, look around. Saw the Enterprise premiere on Wednesday and actually liked it quite a bit. I was little disappointed that the plot of this episode was based on time travel, but other than than that a great start for the series. Well, that about does it for today. Later. 9-18-2001 Miscellaneous updates and stuff. Newswise, only a week until Silent Hill 2 is unleashed. Damn my lack of funds! What a bad time to have little money with processer and ram prices at an all time low ($90 for an Athlon 1400 mhz!) and Silent Hill 2 comes out! Oh well. Anyway, I will probably replace the Final Fantasy Tactics scrapbook with exploits from another game (I am not sure which yet) and will think up other things to put on the site. That's all for now. |
