| Brief History: In
1853, the current fairgrounds in Carthage was chosen as the permanent
site of
what would become the Hamilton County Fair. An exact date as to when
the dirt oval was built is uncertain. Midget car races were held c. May 14, 1936 - c. June 25, 1936. While
the 1/2 mile track is gone, the Fair continues to hold Demo Derby's in
front of the main grandstand. |
