Brief History:
History was made the weekend of August 18-19, 2001 when the Lunken
Airport runways and taxiways were turned into a temporary road course
on order to host the SCCA sanctioned Lunken Runway Enduro. The weekends
events included 3 races as well as a Historic Race Car parade.
Saturday opened with practice and qualifying in all divisions, and at
2:00 pm the single seat, opened wheeled Pepsi Formula Challenge race.
Sunday began with the "Parade of History" historic race car parade, an
11:00 am start for the SCCA Spec Racer Dash, and at 12:45 the start of
the 3 hour endurance race.
