Project: Set Design: "Trasformation"Description: Yet another project from my set design studio. The assignment here was to create a set that transformed from a two-dimensional design object into a sprawling three dimensional set. I started with a simple flower/starburst pattern. The leaves are cut from bronze. In the second stage the form blossoms open and a character rises from the center. In the last stage we see that the leaves have grown into large tentacles that occupy the entire stage. The actors move around this jungle of forms. I also had to study how this set might actually transform itslef in reality and worked up a rigging system to transform stage one into stage two. The change from stage two to three would probably have to be a full stage set change. <<Previous Project/ /Next Project>>
