Belle's Recorder Concert

Belle had her recorder concert on Thursday. Here is the best photo I got:

Tough camera night. She did very well. Jonah thoroughly enjoyed the show and was yelling out to Isabelle at several points. Ruby was perfect and everyone wanted to stop to see the baby. I did manage to snag a decent photo of Belle and Jonah:

I'm still working on the flash/no flash aspect of photography so my pictures lately are hit or miss. Jonah is the ring-bearer in a wedding tomorrow and the rehearsal is in ~1 hour. I hope we get some good pics of him in his tux (little stud).

New movies...

Last night, the kids watched "March of the Penguins"

. Isabelle said it was very sad

Watched a much happier movie the past 2 days during lunch at work, "Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit".

Definitely not sad, but the silly theme song is repeated ad-nauseum throughout the DVD and it has been in my head all day (similar to the Polamalu song).

New hardware

Belle got her braces today. Thuy took her in for the 2.5 hour procedure, then back to school, then back to the orthodontist for another 30 min procedure to re-attach a bracket that had fallen off. Whew! So here's the new look...

Here's what Belle has to say about the whole ordeal:

I don't like braces or expanders.They hurt but atleast my teeth will be straight.yahooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

The night before her braces and Belle is excited. I can't say that I was that excited when I got them and I can't say I'm excited about paying for them. But she's looking forward to it and it will give her a prettier smile, so I suppose I am excited, too.

And so we begin. We've had a site dedicated to Ruby since she was born, but we had nothing for our whole family. We have plenty more pictures and stories to share than just what's on Ruby's site (like we're actually going to get an audience). I talked with Thuy and we both agreed that it would be good to give our other kids equal time in this web publishing bonanza.

I remember tinkering with MoveableType but never gave it much of an effort. I found Pivot and liked it because it was A) easy to install and B) required nothing other than PHP (don't want to pay for mySQL through my ISP). We'll see how this turns out. I'd really like to be able to upload photos/stories as we can and I hope this tool makes it easy. Here goes...

Wow. Originally, I uploaded the whole photo, which was huge and messed up the whole page. Then I created a thumbnail and linked it to the larger photo (click the thumbnail to see the big picture). That's much better.

I think this will be great and I hope to post more soon. Cheers.
