Organizational Structure / Locations

The local or Subordinate Auxiliaries form the base of membership. Where possible, they are affiliated with a Commandery of the Knights of St. John. A minimum of three Auxiliaries within a twenty-five mile radius are necessary to form a District or regional Auxiliary. If a Grand Commandery exists in an area, a corresponding Grand Auxiliary may be formed incorporating several Districts. The overall governance structure is the Supreme Auxiliary.

In addition a Junior Auxiliary for young girls may be formed under the sponsorship of a Subordinate Auxiliary.

Meetings are held regularly: Supreme Auxiliary - biennial Conventions; Grand Auxiliaries - yearly meetings; District Auxiliaries - quarterly meetings; Subordinate and Junior Auxiliaries - monthly meetings.

map Auxiliaries currently function in the United States, West Indies, Panama, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Togo. They may be organized anywhere.
