Our MOTH Schedule

revised September 2003

This is the third year I've made a schedule, and probably the 6th or 7th "revision" as what works for our needs seems to change every six months or so. Fortunately the schedule-making process gets easier each time as I know what has worked in the past and this year's schedule was finished in an evening and worked well (with minor tweaking) from day one. We started out in mid-August just doing the morning schedule and have been doing the whole day's schedule for most of September (though afternoons are still looser and more adaptable). On Saturdays we don't follow the schedule but the kids still do catechism and music practice.

(NOTE: This is what is written on the schedule on the fridge, however, I am in 3d trimester right now and usually sleep until 7:00 or even 7:30 these days. The beauty of this schedule is that I can do this and the day isn't completely wrecked! As long as Matt gets the two older kids up and started on their chores, and throws some food at them before he leaves for work, and as long as I start in on Talia's catechism right at 8:00, the morning still goes smoothly even when I sleep in. I catch up on kitchen cleanup at recess time, do my bible reading in the evening, and shower after my work-out or have a bath before bed.)
