As you may have noticed, this is a FRAME! See its got its own little scroll bar and everything. Yes indeed, I am now caught up to web development circa 1997.
All the links on this particular frame can also be found in the frame immediately to the left. What you are currently reading is the user's guide to the page. Its here to help you find your way around the site. Once you know your way around, you can use the frame on the left to hop from one spot to another.
The links below will take you to places where you can read about the noble story of the adventurous MacLeinns, starting with the earliest known MacLeinns - the patriarchs Leinn the Calm and Ewan MacLeinn - right down to the future generations - Peter Danger (P.D.) MacLeinn. The "World of MacLeinn" gets beyond the particulars of the MacLeinn clan and into the MacLeinn world view.
Updates, corrections, reformats, and editions occur irregularly here. The last was on 8/06/03. So if you visited before, look around, maybe there's something new like the Ugandan Research, MacLeinn Outreach or Notes to Self . If you are a first time visitor, I would really, really appreciate it that you sign my guest book!

MacLeinn and Augustus
Though once as populous as the dodo, the Northern (Yankee) MacLeinns are a vanishing breed. Today, they are down to four in number (just four years ago, they were down to but two in number). These MacLeinns are, Micheal, Paeder, Sile, and Bridget MacLeinns. Now if you happen to run into the latter three and ask them if they are a MacLeinn, they will look at you funny and walk away. This is just a defense mechanism. So good are they at their roles that when Bridget walked in here the other day and saw the web page, her first words were "Who the #%@! are the MacLeinns?" My heart swelled with pride; yes, we MacLeinns are survivors!
In a strange reversal of fortune, around the year 1993, the Southern and Northern Branches of the MacLeinn switched places. This is a natural phenomena which occurs every 30 or so years. The pre 1993, dixie MacLeinn's who knew all the words to "Rocky Top" packed up their Saturn and moved to the frigid north while the Yankee MacLeinns, who knew which great lake Ohio bordered, packed up their Saturn and moved south. Somewhere around Lexington they passed each other. However, the former Yankee MacLeinns (now Dixie MacLeinns) are much better southerners than the old Dixie MacLeinns (now Yankee MacLeinns) ever were. Within a few years, the new Dixie MacLeinns acquired a pickup truck, a hunting dog, and a several types of firearms. Meanwhile the new Yankee MacLeinns have only acquired an appreciation for the different types of snow shovels.
