Sex-Pot

We are the luckiest people in the world here at Sexpot. This month we talked to two fabulous Sexpots. First, we bring you:

Emma M., multimedia artist and fetishwear designer. She divulges her practices and passions, here for you.

SP: Please describe what it is you “do,” as though you were describing it to someone who isn't aware of the scene or lifestyle.

EM: I describe myself as a multimedia artist. My schooling is in the fine arts as a drawing and painting major. Since then I have worked in corporate culture and freelance in a variety of media.

I am now combining a number of the mediums I've worked with including sculpture, photography, painting, fashion design and performance; to create this persona, then photo document her activities for publication and photo print sales. Basically that means I turn a boy into a girl and photograph her. That includes garment design, construction, makeup, lighting design, modeling and photography.

SP: How long have you been “in business,” so to speak?

EM: I have been developing Emma's persona for about four years now.

SP: Where are you located? How has this been helpful or detrimental to your work?

EM: I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. It’s an interesting dichotomy living here. Cincinnati is a fairly arts-oriented town. It is however, the tight-assed, conservative and somewhat repressive town you all have heard about; with a bit of WKRP in the mix. So, I don’t go out in Cincinnati because what I do and wear is not quite understood here. My location has affected and helped create how I present myself. The repression of sameness here has caused me to react toward extremity in fashion and image. Most of my public exposure is through the Internet or going out in other cities that support events I attend, or holiday travel.

SP: Are you affiliated with any groups, scenes, etc. that you could tell me about?

EM: Yes, several actually. In Cincinnati there is a lovely Transgender support group named CrossPort. Once a month they hold a social at a downtown restaurant. That is the only event I do locally.

I also attend a conference called Southern Comfort in Atlanta. Its a TG event that f-m, m-f and their spouses / friends attend. Its a wonderful event.

The fetish community has several events I am engaged in. In Toronto, North Bound Leather has a great party called URGE. London has the Rubber Ball. I am part of a group of artists published in 'Secret' magazine out of Belgium. An event named "FetishCon" asked me to model at their upcoming event in Florida. I hope to do the same at my first 'Dressed To Thrill Ball' in Vegas this spring.

There are a couple of wonderful transgendered chat groups I visit regularly, that have literally changed my life. I also have a few web sites that I have created to display my artwork, which also allows others the same forum.

SP: What future plans do you have for your business?

EM: Not to get old. Laughs...

I would love to have art shows with life-sized Emma photo prints. I think a comic book character of Emma would be fun as well. Mild mannered guy during the day, turns into super crime fighting Sexpot by night. The graphics could be outrageously sexy, kinky and humorous. I would also like to get some more publication under my corset and then perhaps publish my own book of fetish photography.

SP: What is your day job? Do you have to keep your “daytime” and your “nighttime” identities separate?

EM: Currently developing the image, photography and marketing for Emma M. is my day job. Just like super heroes, I do indeed keep my identities separate. Recently I have let a few local friends know what I am doing. The fun part of my job is that I am at home and I can work in persona day or night.

SP: What are your other interests and hobbies?

I am an avid beer, wine, single malt scotch and food fan. Back to multimedia ... actually multi sensual stimulation. I LOVE to cook, make my own beer and travel around the world enjoying its offerings. Unfortunately I don’t have much time to play music any more. It was a HUGE rush being on stage performing.

Gardening is also a wonderful activity. I have a 40' x 200' vegetable garden and I do landscaping, all around the rest of my home.

Of course the fetish parties are always fun to attend.
