Turning Radius
Because of the tight turning radius (28 interior and 55 feet exterior)the MonoFreight can maneuver along docks, around obstacles and into warehouses. The combination of tight turning radius and elevated track allows the MonoFreight system to be built in ports and congested urban environments without disrupting existing traffic patterns. It also allows the system to be installed without moving existing roads and structures resulting in a lower installation cost.
Three Tracks
The MonoFreight System has three tracks to increase flexibility and reliability. The bi-directional middle track gives the system operational flexibility. The third track also improves reliability, since one of the three tracks can be removed from service for maintenance or used to bypass a mechanical problem.
Passive Switch
With the high volume of containers on the system, it is necessary to have a passive switch. The specially designed switch of the MonoFreight system uses a track structure that does not move, with the entire switching operation handled by the trolley. The result is a switch that works with only a few feet of separation between vehicles.

Automatic Depot
The containers are processed in automatic depots. The benefit of this arrangement is that the containers remain attached to the carriers. When the containers are required at their destination, such as at the railhead, truck loading, warehouse or ship, a signal is sent to the trolley and the container is delivered within fifteen minutes.
