MonoFreight is being developed by MonoMobile Corporation with the assistance of ten companies. MonoMobile Corporation has been working on the concept of using electrified rail for transportation for over 15 years. MonoFreight evolved from the MonoMobile invention, which is an electric passenger vehicle that is suspended from an overhead rail. The MonoMobile is unique because it has the ability to disconnect from the overhead rail to reach destinations just like an automobile. As a result the MonoMobile has the convenience of the automobile and many of the benefits of mass transit. MonoMobile Corporation brings together some of the top companies in the industry, from around the United States, to work on this project. Experts in steel track construction, electric motors, electric power, steel track engineering, conveyors/lift systems and computer control of vehicles on tracks are part of the team. These are not companies collected out of convenience or close proximity, but are chosen for being the best in their fields.
-Premier Rides- Built the world’s first linear induction motor at King’s Island Amusement Park near Cincinnati in 1996. This company is considered one of the top designers of roller coaster rides…which uses steel track, electric motors, and computer controls in a very similar way to MonoFreight.The company is based in Baltimore.
-Clermont Steel Fabricators-This company is considered the number one fabricator of steel track in the world. Their computer driven welders, lathes and laser cutters build the most complicated roller coaster tracks in amusement parks from China to the United States.
-Kornylak Corporation –Experts in conveyors and lift systems for small containers and billion dollar planes on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. Operations in United States and Dubai. Their engineering staff has many years of experience with lifting and maneuvering truck containers.
-Birket Engineering- Based in Orlando, Florida this company designs and builds computer control systems to monitor and control everything from roller coaster rides to stunts. They do work for every amusement park in Orlando, Florida area as well as work in Las Vegas, Hollywood and almost every amusement park around the world.
-Celerity Automation-This company designs and builds linear induction motors and control systems that can send heavy multi-ton loads down a track and bring them to a stop within a millimeter of their destination. The founders of this relatively new company, include national experts in material handling and controls.
-Other Team Members-Other companies involved with MonoFreight include Henry M. Wood Company, Cincinnati Transmission, Costasur, Denier Electric and Wilmington Precision Machine. These organizations provide important knowledge about brake systems, electric motors, metal fabricating and control systems.
