The basis of this work is a US military intelligence document that collected and updated data to 10 May 1940. It presents a picture of the organization of many formations, including TO&Es, incliuding tank and anti-tank formations (from materials taken from the French Army Archives), battle formations, operational procedures, etc., etc. The focus is on armored warfare, but it does contain non-armor related information. Amazing data that has never been published or made available to the public before.

This is actually two different editions of FM 17-100. The first presented was published in 1944 and was the operational guidance used during the American operations in western Europe. The second is the Tentative FM 17-100 (Employment of Armored Division and Separate Armored Units) issued on 29 September 1943. This second work is added because it provides the initial intentions for the abandoned concept of the armored group and speaks extensively to independent armored and armored infantry battalions.

This little treasure is the "how to" and "how not to" of German tank operations. Originally written in in 1940 by the German army, it has a forward by Heinz Guderian and contains the "lessons learned" by the Germans during the Polish and French Campaigns. As suggested, it contains numerous illustrations of how to and now not to drive and fight your panzer, including scenerios and theoretical battle examples. I do need to apologize for some of the graphics. I was working with 1941 reproductions of the original artwork, so I had very little, as a result, to work with. Some of the illustrations are not very good.

This is fundamentally the same as the preceding several WWII US field manuals. However, it has an exceptional section of "how to" and "how not to" tactics for the use of tank destroyers that also applies to tanks. Though this manual was superseded before Normandy, it provides an interesting insight into the theory of tank destroyers and a lot of valid and valuable information on tank tactics.

This is a reprint Chapter V of the extremely rare US "Handbook on U.S.S.R. Military Forces TM-30-340. It work is full of diagrams of regimental, corps and army level tactics, supported by dozens of illustrations. The work was prepared by the US War Department using all the information that it could obtain from General Gehlen and his staff of Fremde Herre Ost ("Foreign Armies East"). It is a comprehensive examination of Soviet ground tactics, including the important support elements. Part I covers a number of neglected areas: Soviet tactical command structure, the role of combat intelligence and reconnaissance, the tactical planning process and documentation. Part II is an examination of tactics proper. It covers infantry tactics, a huge and highly detailed examination of artillery support, armored and cavalry tactics, and engineering and anti-aircraft support. Part III covers special operations, including night operations, the use of smoke assaults on fortified or urban areas, river crossings, actions in woods, swamps and mountains, and winter warfare. The emphasis in all sections is on the latter part of the war though much of the material applies throughout the war.

This is a "lessons learned" analysis of the Soviet war experience by the Soviets of what the Germans did to them. It is an excellent analysis of many unusual tactical and operational situations. Sorry it's so expensive, but it's imported from England.
